Dee, may I extend my deepest gratitude to you for all of your self-care . . . . . this is mostly a self-serving gratitude !!! . . . . .do please take care.

Kitty, thanks for coming back and doing what you can to not drink one day at a time. Ride whatever craving or lousy emotion comes your way.

I didn't get my tasks done but I'm okay with that. Tomorrow I will go at it again.

Hunker down all and get through the days. There is another side to this.

(my perennial seeds germinated today . . . . it is a nice reminder that summer and flowers are on the way.)

Hmmm . . . . Dee, I hope I didn't offend you. I, like most here, deeply value what you do. However if you didn't do what you do, I would still value your life as I value the life of the drunk in the street or the old person in a nursing home.

I didn't really think I did Dee but then I started worrying about it. This being human is weird

I kind of choose to believe that each life has value that goes beyond human understanding.

Hi all - I haven't spoken to you guys for sooo long

All is well here with me, still holding on and holding out.

Work has been absolutely relentless - I have to finish two episodes a week - and still have my normal office work as well

Not complaining - it is going to be a life saver in the coming weeks, if only to keep my mind occupied.

We are going into full lockdown in South Africa tomorrow at midnight.

I cannot believe what has happened to our world - so scary - suppose our little soapbox has just gotten too crowded?

So absolutely fantastic to see you all still here. I truly apologise for being so absent - but never stopped thinking of each of you each and every day

Kitty (((()))) and Barbs (((()))) and Caramel(((()))) so good to see you back. Barbs, my friend, I am so sorry about your mother passing. Be strong, girl, and join us again in fighting the good fight.

Bee and Dee - seeing you on here after my absence was like coming home.

Please all be safe and look after yourselves. It is not the end of the world yet -only as we know it.

Lots and lots and lots of love to you all (and elbow bumps) XXXXXXX

Absolutely no worries Ayers. You did say you were snowed with work so I haven't expected you to post. Keep at it.

The pandemic is scary but then this has been predicted since probably before the Spanish flu.

I'm figuring the entire world is learning lots. I just saw a graph showing how google searches of exponential growth has exploded in the last month. This makes me happy as it means folks are trying to educate themselves.

My perennial seeds are starting to germinate. I've never tried to start perennial seeds indoors but this is a good time for such a project. I'm not sure they will transplant well but I'm going to give it a try.

Take care all.

How is everyone ?

Very scared of this virus now!!!

Apparently the peak is coming this next two weeks. I'm so depressed sat in 24/7 alone, not coping very well. Today Ive just cried and cried, feel so low. I can't see my parents or anyone else now its rubbish.

Feel overwhelming fear at how many of us are about to die from this.

Sorry to be so negative but I'm struggling to hold it together right now xxx

^ wishing you courage, Sunflower.

Take very good care of yourself, keep up with latest information without dwelling on "news", keep in contact with those you love.

Have a simple plan for each day and week, be in the sunshine when you can (how is your Vitamin D?), keep a brief diary, have a look at this thread:
https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...ovid-19-a.html (Positive activities in time of COVID-19)

Sending you a ((tight hug)) across the miles.

^ Thank you

At home, no trips except local to buy food or medicines, keep distance from others when walking outdoors, nearest case to me is ~8 miles.

I'm well prepared, amusing myself with the internet for which I am very grateful.

I put a couple of teddy-bears in the front windows to amuse any passing children - I see the lady across the street has done that too.

Good to hear from you Ayers and Sunflower

I try to limit my news to once a day when I wake up, Sunflower. I haven;t missed a big story or change yet

Ugh Kitty, being alone sounds rough.

Please please check in when you can here. I will respond as quickly as possible.

Our world sure has been through worse than this although most of us haven't seen anything like this.

Big hug to all.

How's everyone doing?

I'm ok, trying to stay as positive as I can. I'm still working so routine is work, very short walk when I can brave it and then cooking and reading is keeping me going.

Really missing visiting my parents but nothing I can do about it.

I have a good food shop delivery coming today, that will keep me cheered up lol, loving self care at the moment, meditating and cooking and eating nice healthy food.

Sending lots of love to each of you and hope you're all safe, well and sober

xxx

Hi Kitty, I'm keep doing what I'm doing although it always feels like so little. Mainly I work on my Dad's finances, exercise and sew.

I'm making an 1880s bustle dress for a friend who wrote a book about a local historical figure who moved to our state in the 1880s. The fashion at the time often has these kind of fake sewn in vest things. I'm using a pattern from Truly Victorian. The fabric is a deep red paired with a red and dark grey print. I'm trimming it with black velveteen. It is a fun project.

The finances are not so fun. If I put it off, it gets worse so I try to do at least a bit every day even if it is just print off a bank statement . . . sigh.

Well, I'm off to thread the sewing machine with black thread, unload the dishwasher and fold laundry.

Courage to you all.

Hello, Sunflower. I'm sure folks will look in from time to time.
How have you and your area come through the past two months? A few weeks ago I stopped following most of the already-limited amount of news I'd watched daily, and immediately felt my mood lift. 'twas hard going, running the whole world!
