This is the most important thing I do, every day. I don’t ever want to forget that- ever! I’ve been having those thoughts that I don’t have a problem anymore. It’s frightening. That I want to be like ‘normal’ people and go to happy hours and barbecues and drink—it’s a lie. I want this out of my head- I know the truth. Back to basics for me. It’s tempting to escape..what is it that I really need? It sure isn’t alcohol but maybe just company and some kind of happiness. When we want to drink it means we need something else!

I feel better that I called the alcoholic voice out. It’s been bothering me.

My husband is down with man flu , it's been a nasty flu season this year quiet a lot of deaths Australia wide , my husband must be really sick though , he has taken to his bed which he never does , he goes to work regardless , not this time. I am doing well DAY 26.

Every time I come here to write an update on my life I ended up erasing it. Not sure why- I just don’t feel articulate enough, I suppose.

Life is good- ups and downs as usual. I am doing a new program from the Heart Math Institute which teaches heart coherence. Did you know that the electromagnetic field of the heart can be measured up to three feet away from the body? And you know those times when you feel someone walk into a room and their energy is just off and it affects you? That energy could be coming directly from their heart (not just their aura). I have a sensor that clips onto my earlobe and measures my heart rate variability when I use the Heart Math app. Even my boys enjoy using it (my 4 year old requested it tonight before Bed.) I hope I can get to the point when I use theses exercises during times of stress- that is the hardest part. Actually using tools when you need them the most.

Anyway. It’s almost 9 and I need to go to bed. My husband and I are doing a double date on a lake tomorrow- we are learning the basics of canoe paddling. It’s going to be in the high 80s/ what was I thinking!
