One Year & Over Part 69
Hi Overs-
its a pleasure to pop by and see familiar faces. Congrats Mags in 6 years! Suze - thx for sharing your stories of your time with your mum. I’m ackwardly holding the phone for typing while my daughter is sleeping on me - almost a year and a half - so I will just say that I’m chugging along doing well
it it is truly a treat to read your posts. Hugs and be well!

SO SO SO happy for you my beautiful friend. Almost a year and a half.....holy moly.....so she is walking and talking I bet.
Huge hugs for you and your baby and husband. s
EDIT: And we have (both) been married for almost 2 years. Amazing. s
Good morning Overs.
One of the professors we have met recently is doing research into Parkinsons disease, dementia and brain cancers. He was telling us that the biggest problem with brain diseases is getting the drugs across the blood brain barrier. He was very excited because they have made a lipid ribbon that will carry drugs across the barrier. Watch this space and keep smiling.
Have a good day everyone.

Bet the Aussies are on this....you know they are trialing a new Alzheimer's drug there....oh yes they are.
Hi everyone, just thought I'd pop by and say hello, I've been working on a movie 60+ hours per week plus working on a book project, also tbh friends I was in a relationship for a year that turned out to be emotionally abusive and I just got out of it finally, it's been really really hard. But I'm getting better now.
Lots of love everyone.
Congrats on 6 years Mags.
Suze your story about your mom made me cry. You are a good person.
Off I go.

FBL, I was 54 when I got mine done, and was probably the youngest patient there by 20 years. I am very happy to have had them done when I did. My vision was rapidly worsening and I was facing the possibility of cataracts totally blinding me.
I had surgery yesterday to repair a long running hernia issue. It turned out to be more severe than anticipated, and I spent two hours on the table instead of 45 minutes. Two pieces of mesh needed to be sewn into my abdomen to put everything back in place. Needless to say, I won't be doing much for a while.
Have a good day all!

You stayed in the relationship huh, yep, it can be so so hard to break away even when we are being hurt. But you did it....and you are a lovely person who deserves to be treated WAY better than that.
The movie sounds super exciting, so does the book. Guess you finished studying for the moment? Maybe not.
Tons of love. ♥
How could this happen?
Morning Overs

Suze hope your elbow is getting slowly and positively better love ’s.
A little birdie told me it was Dee’s Birthday today.
Have a good Friday my friends xx

Happy B-day, Dee!
IP, so happy to "see" you! I'm sorry that you had a bad relationship. You deserve to be happy. I'm sure you'll find the right one someday. In the meantime, there's a lot to be said for being single and free. I'm kind of an expert in that department.
Star, sorry to here about your hernia. Hope you'll feel better soon!
Suze, have I told you lately that I think you're awesome?
Itch, hope the house adventure is coming to a close!
My cataract surgery is all set for this coming Tuesday (July 30). I have to be there bright and early at 6AM. I'm the first patient of the day, so hopefully my surgeon will be wide awake and ready to go! I'm actually looking forward to this one. The recovery should be a breeze compared to the previous surgery.
Have a Fabulous Friday, overs!

Hopefully your surgeon will be wide awake dear FBL? LOL....yep, I would hope so too. Actually, I would want to be the first patient of the day as well. And all the best love. But we will remember next week. s
And thank you form the bottom of my heart ~ what a lovely thing to say.
And I am so glad that we all got to celebrate D's birthday this year....
So many HBs in so many threads.....it is wonderful.....I think everyone should get to feel special at least one day of the year. It is the only day of my year when I will walk around saying go me...it's my birthday....woot woot....I get presents.....ha ha. I am a child.
My elbow is still the same Mags. It hurts big-time. It is sick pain.
And it is the kind of break where there is no separation, so the docs can't do anything else except advise. I have to alternate between wearing the sling (not doing that atm) and the right physio/exercises to get the arm working again. If you don't do that, it might never work right.
But I am not concerned....I have a story for you. Hmm. It's a bit grizzly, might just say my dad did this by falling off a ladder once, but much much worse. Our orthopaedic surgeon performed a miracle, but said he would never be able to straighten that arm again. It took my dad about three months hard work, and that arm was stronger than ever. So I have good genes.

Chronic pain sucks, well aware of it.
I gauge it carefully, having to stand for hours- collectively in art classes, I record when I use pain relief and add brufen for break through pain by discretely ducking out to the loo.
The big thing to remember about pain or addiction (when in positive recovery) is they do not define us.

PJ, must’ve been so wearing, suffering all that pain, both mentally and physically.
It’s been raining this morning. Lovely and refreshing outside. I think we’re heading back to our normal weather now. I love to see the sun but not extreme.
I heard on the news that railway lines had ‘heat related’ incidents causing big delays.
Have a good weekend wherever you are, my friends. xx
