Class of July 2013 Part 58
Oh PJ yes, all those things you mentioned. I’d had a particularly trying day at work yesterday, so was a little emotional, but that show was exactly what I needed to see.
And yes, that young guy with the beard. That was the hardest thing to watch, when he was going to walk out of rehab to have “just 250ml” of vodka. I was crying at that point, my goodness how scary we can shift from our firm decisions not to drink. Literally possessed by a demon determined to destroy us.
Reality is hard to to deal with sometimes, but it’s certainly better than the living hell we subjected ourselves to by drinking.
So confronting. Real.

Hi guys
Oh yes, i remember watching that too and it broje my heart .
That young guy , the desperation, the sadness, that split decision. I could see myself in him at my last hospital stay .
Your alcoholic mind just deviates from the norm.
I make myself watch these shows even though they make me sad and make me cringe as i see myself in their behaviour.
Xx

I think this shows we have reached at certain poit f acceptance of who we were, and what we are doing with our lives- that we watch such doc's. To remind, to hope we see a happy fin to the show...to connect'
When I was drinking I would change the TV channel if a booze ad came on in case my ex said something about my alcoholism. Pretty clever, huh?
