5:40am in Alberta, 24 more for me and everyone else who needs them please, and thanks...

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

Good morning and congrats dear Lascaux!!!
And SR is behaving very strangely for me this morning.....perhaps it is me, or maybe spring fever has overcome cyberspace

This is the first time my mom saw me truly, truly sober. I didn't usually drink in front of them but came home drunk or flew in hungover. My mom is very, very weak and sick. But she leaned over and told me: "I'm proud of you for not drinking." It meant the world to me to hear those words!

I feel so much guilt for not being able to save them from their illnesses, but at least I can be sober for her and for me. Mothers notice. So, you are an angel in your mother's eyes and that is a wonderful accomplishment.
I have shivers going through me.....good ones....this is so beautiful honey. You are an angel in your mother's eyes too....gosh what a wonderful way to show your parents love and respect.

Think I forgot to check in yesterday, wasn't drinking, just forgot. I'm looking forward to another sober day.

Mike, I'm so sorry for everything you're going through. LOVE LOVE LOVE how you look at the bright side even when life is throwing a ton of challenges your way. Inspirational. Keep doing that .... It won't make the challenges go away but it will help you to deal with them.

Red and Listae, I'm so sorry for everything you're both going through. Wish I could help. I understand the pain and the frustration and the feelings of powerlessness. I'm so proud of you both for dealing with everything sober. I used to get back from visiting dad at the hospice and stand in my kitchen and gulp wine straight from the bottle ... Wanted to numb the pain, make it go away. It didn't go away.... Drinking intensified the pain. Magnified the horror and pushed that feeling of powerlessness to a level that I almost couldn't handle. I didn't manage to get sober until after dad died.... I honestly believe he's helping me from wherever he is. But I always wish I'd done it whilst he was still here. What you're going through right now is one of life's toughest tests but you're dealing with it and you're strong enough to keep dealing with it. Sobriety will ensure that strength. Keep shining bright for your parents and remember that you are never on your own. Love to everyone and 24 more for me and Jo please. Hugs for you Jo xxxx
Thank you darling girl.....your words made my heart sing.

But if I am, so are you....your words and your heart are beyond beautiful. Every single day.

And sending more love and help out into the universe for our darling jojo....she is going through a very rough time guys.....

On a lighter note....guess who has been married for a year and a half today?

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe it? I hear a good few 'no's'.....
Gosh, I can hardly.....it wasn't easey peasey that's for sure, but I really love my beautiful Goat and life here is beginning to feel comfortable. Just a small change....moving to a new country, moving in with a guy and marrying for the first time (or the only time as I am often reminded ).

Sobriety and SR and all of you have given me all I longed for and prayed for throughout all of the years of my drinking. And it is only just beginning....this life is magic and we get to live it.

Go us. ♥♥

Good morning and checking in for 24 more. Beauty of a day weather-wise in store in DC. Son left to head back to school in WI early this morning but will back in about 7 weeks. Always a bit down when this happens, but oldest daughter comes in next week for some of her break and looking forward to seeing her.

Venus - congratulations! You deserve all the magic that you bring here daily.

Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Got your pm @venuscat, and thought I'd better explain why I used this morning's quote. The quote wasn't meant to make light of sobriety, it's actually listed as one of the 20 greatest sobriety quotes of all time. I hope no one thinks I was taking sobriety for granted because I don't even take my own sobriety for granted. Even after 4 years, I still have to remain vigilant.

Of course not love....I know how you treasure your sobriety.
And I like the quote....I just wasn't sure if we should use it.....and the one I sent you follows on from yours....kind of extends the message I hope.

It means the world to me to do this with you every day......thank you again from the bottom of my happy heart. ♥♥

I'm still checking in daily to keep myself honest, but I'm looking forward to the day when my life is so full of non-alcohol things that I'm just too busy to check in!
