Venus, I guess we were both writing at the same time, ha!

I have had a lifetime of moving around the country, and for a while the world, so I am accustomed to leaving people behind me. There are two communities that I have remained a part of over the past 20-30 years, quite small but close to one another, and I miss them. In the past I could have just hopped on a plane at will to visit, but that is gone now, so it's probably up to me to foster those relationships if I wish to keep them for the years ahead. I don't need to hide, and I need to be proactive about it more.

There's so much less to fear when you are sober. Now that I'm further along in my life of not drinking and feeling confident about that, I should add my sobriety date to my signature on my one year anniversary date. I am delighted to be a member of the May class, 05-15-18.

24 on a rather chilly morning with intermittent snow and sleet. Need to go out shopping but maybe I should hold! Hmmmm... it was 75/25c just a couple days ago :o

I think if you have breakfast things....wait a bit....the ice scares me terribly. Maybe the sun will come out....it is supposed to here.

Thank you for talking me out of it. We are both southern, yeah? Ice is pretty uncommon here, and people won’t slow down for rain so if there are any icy patches...yikes! We have a lot of bridges and hills too. Temperature is right at freezing so I’ll hold till later! Snow is much easier to drive on..ice is scary, I agree!

I’m so uptight on Saturday mornings..haha. Just ready to get out and about

. I need to relax and bake something. There is no reason to rush ....because..Saturday !!

Well I am officially mid-west, but Columbus OH is kind of nestled into a great spot which means we get more of Virginia's weather than New York's.....I know that least (2 hours north from me) gets far more frigid weather than I do....

ha ha.....the Aussie weather expert....

And yes...it is Saturday....yey.

Or Caturday as we say on Whiners......

WOW, two blasts of snow in Seattle in a week. I have a 4x4 truck with mountain snow rated tires so I don't mind driving in snow. Guess I'll shovel the driveway after some coffee then go clear my wife's parents driveway and walkway. Seattle just about comes to a standstill when it snows, kinda funny when you see how much snow other places get. Well count me in for another sober day. Have a great day everyone.

But yes, if one lives in the Midwest avoiding those gigantic lakes keeps the snow a bit more manageable. Sometimes I wish I lived up north, but the ice..nah. It’s just snow that I miss. It’s funny.. I’m actually a coastal New England transplant, but my blood has thinned and I now wear sweaters when it’s below 68F/20c and a parka when it’s below 50/10c. Summers are way too hot here so maybe I should come up to snow country for 4 months then! Love the middle temps..I need two homes someday!

So I went outside and the walkway is a sheet of ice and I slipped (no fall). Decision to stay home has been made. Texans need to stay home. Ha! I can live off of snow cones and whatever is in the freezer.
