A Different Path Part 16
Still sinking in....
....somehow, it’s so very hard to imagine there’s no chirpy update or check-in from Kathy. Even though logically i know it’s not going to happen....the adjusting that our friend has now gone is slowly sinking in.

I posted this on another thread this morning, but chose it because it reminded me of Kathy and her unshakable faith. There are no tears where she is now, no pain, only glorious peace and love.
Rest in Peace, dear Kathy.
Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
refuse to stay down.
If you cannot refuse to stay down
lift your heart toward heaven
and like a hungry beggar,
ask that it be filled,
and it will be filled.
You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you
from lifting your heart
toward heaven —
only you.
It is in the midst of misery
that so much becomes clear.
The one who says nothing good
came of this,
is not yet listening.

♥ I imagine a lot of us wondering about the details: Kathy's son and I texted yesterday and he said once again that the email will go out (which I will get and so will Dee) in a few days....I am thinking it will bring some comfort to know that Kathy's service is going to be what she wanted. I am sure it will be.
I was grateful he was able to see my condolence message....and it went out from all of us. Kathy's family knows we are all grieving with them.

I miss Gilmer so much, also. I suspect that we will all see her, each in our own special little places, as we navigate a world without her.
I’ll Be
For Gilmer
I’ll be the wind which howls in caves and storms
And shifts the sands upon the shore
And the pile of autumn leaves which forms
In the cozy nook outside your door
I’ll be the sun which warms your heart and mind
And the dream you pause to find
I’ll be
The delicate butterfly in your garden
As it savors dew and scent and nectar
The first snowflake born of winter
As it floats to seek a kindred spirit
Or a tiny bud in spring’s display
As it strains, then yields to warmth of day
I’ll be
The vapor trail behind the silver bird
As it seeks a distant shore
And the eagle as it spans the skies
For food and prey of earth
I’ll be the stars which dot the skies at night
And the moon which gives you light.
I’ll be
The music born of laughter
Of those too young to yet know pain
The dance of youth and of blissful lovers
And the life and rhythm of the rain
I’ll be the awe in hearts of mothers
With love impossible to contain
I’ll be
The foam upon the ocean
As it churns and twists and curls
And the rocks which rise majestically
From the depths of ocean’s floor
And the boom and echo of the thunder
Which seeks to equal ocean’s roar
I’ll be
The moment you pause to listen
To the screams of nothingness in beggars’ eyes
And become aware that - if you can ignore them
They become all of us in disguise
I’ll be that moment in time and space
When we begin to see each other in all we face
I’ll be
The lonely shoe along the roadway
And those who ponder its strange fate
Or the lonely soul who has lost his way
And looks for comfort at your gate
And I’ll be the door which opens gently
If you’re that soul who seeks reprieve
I’ll be
The warmth which gives you comfort
And the love which brings you home
The thoughts that keep you warm at night
And the place you rest your head
And I’ll be the rains on the horizons
Which are the tears you’ve yet to shed

I'm content to leave it at that for now and let Kathy's real world family have their space.
If I hear anything, rest assured I'll let everyone know
D
I don't think it's a right or wrong thing Suze, although I do think its best we should leave it up to them to contact us now
One way or the other we'll hear about the arrangements.
I wouldn't expect those arrangements to be known before next week tho.
Chances are you'll hear before me

Leigh, that is heart-wrenchingly beautiful.
Amazingly, just as I began reading it, a huge rush of wind came up, rustling through the trees outside my window.
I will have to re-read again, but yes, I am glad Kathy is free.
Feeling for her family.

After watching the video Ann posted by dr Maya, I found this. It’s so like Kathy has been in my eyes, uplifting and beautiful. So this is for Kathy ❤️
Thanks Dee and Suze, you’re both truly wonderful and you both are also rainbows in my clouds ❤️

Leigh that was so beautiful.
So is every one of you who have posted on Kathy’s Path.
I have read every single one and she would have known and felt the love from each and every one of you.
I am so proud of SR & the friendships we have made here.
Most of us have come here struggling at some point and I firmly believe alcoholics are the nicest people. We feel deeply and hurt accordingly.
May we all continue to carry on and support each other in the way Kathy has with us.
Sweet dreams beautiful woman you are so loved
