Getting buddle up for dog walk. Rereading Rational Recovery Small Book again, just to keep things fresh in my mind. Rereading what I wrote in my journal when I was coming down after my last bender, I was pretty sick mentally and physically. Well 24 hours sober please. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the welcome back. I appreciate it! Still feeling pretty rough (though thankfully better than yesterday). Committing to another 24 hours - I want to get my body stabilized whereas normally I'd be saying "It's still the weekend, may as well take advantage!" meaning drinking whenever I want today. So 24 more, onward I go.

Plus he is taking me on a drive somewhere mysterious that I will like... It should be a nice day weatherwise....hoping.

Oh....then we are having filet mignon and mashed potatoes with beans and almond slivers...Nick is grilling, which he does brilliantly....so yum.
Well that sounds like a wonderful day ahead!! Enjoy it

So glad I don’t drink anymore. I can be there for my family and friends instead of numbing out.

Have a good rest of your Saturday.

I'm so sorry for your loss Red. As painful as it is to feel loss and pain, you are right, it is better than numbing it out. My heart goes out to you.

Good morning fellow travelers of the sober journey

Enjoy this Sunday

Really in need of 24 hrs. Of freedom from alcohol freedom from drugs and freedom from selfishness.

Selfishness is very painful....and I often feel the way you do dearest Eric.
I also think we are both way too self-critical. ♥♥♥

I watched some episodes of Shameless US yesterday. Frank Gallagher is a good reminder to stay sober. So, I’m in for today!

Congrats to all who make the commitment today!

9:15 am in California and checking in for another 24. It's been a busy weekend around here. My girls had their winter formal last night, and both looked beautiful. I cannot believe how quickly time is going. I had to pick my oldest up T 10:30, as I was driving there I was reminded again how grateful I am for my sobriety.

Congrats to all celebrating a milestone today.

❤️Delilah

It is STILL mortifying to be honest and it was only one office Christmas Party and it was in 2002. I still remember what I was wearing. I also remember doing a duet with the big boss. Sigh.

I guess these memories are good, like drinking dreams are good, in that they remind us....but still....they hurt. ♥
Yes I too remember one particular work Christmas party myself... well, I remember the first half of the party. I was hooking into the wine and getting right into the “merry making”. I don’t remember leaving the party. I do remember waking up in my car in the carpark feeling like death warmed up the next day. I do remember the expressions on my colleagues faces on Monday morning when they asked how I pulled up the next day and commented on how they’d never seen me like that before and how concerned they were about me.... I was mortified I don’t want to be that person again.
