Epiphany of the day

Many here already know this, but for the first time I understand it.

I want to be sober more than I want to drink.

My epiphany today is that I need to change jobs before the end of 2021.
I dreamt about my mom (dead 25 years). She was young and encouraging. Brief and surreal visit. Not unwelcome. When the ghosts start to visit me I know it's time to plan for change.

It's also year of the sea shanty. Get on it....

"My worst day sober is better than my best day drinking." For a long time, I could not identify with that statement. Then I realized that for a real alcoholic there is a direct and unavoidable link between any drink and their worst bottom. Now I can affirm that my worst day sober is still better than my best day drinking. Put another way: "There's nothing so bad that a drink can't make it worse."
