Happy Halloween!
Jo - hope you have a great time with your parents. I wonder what Mabel will think of the sea? My dog loves it and swimming is great for his dodgy hips.... but not so pleasant when he runs out the sea and shakes icy English sea water all over me … brrrrr!!
Coco - lovely to meet you. You too Minerva - love your avatar and glad you stuck with diet coke last night.... diet coke is my drink when I go out except at Christmas time when I get into the festive spirit with cranberry juice and soda. And even when I'm drinking diet coke or cranberry and soda, I can always be found on the dancefloor at the end of the night or 'singing' at karaoke and then I'm able to drive myself home. Perfect. I used to think there was a magic ingredient in alcohol called 'fun'. I was wrong. Fun is elsewhere.
Delilah - I'm sorry to hear that your mum is back in hospital and that you're having a difficult time with your brother. And Willow, I'm sorry to hear that those waves of grief are still hitting you hard. Both your posts really made me stop and think. I don't have any emotional attachment to my mum and I often wonder what it would be like to have a caring kind of mum. I was lucky in that my dad showed me lots of warmth and I miss him every day since he died. At his funeral, I did the eulogy and I could have spoken about him for weeks! I have so many incredible memories of my dad and he taught me so much about the world. It makes me sad but I don't have anything to say about my mum. I know that whilst she is alive - this is the time to try to fix our relationship because once she (or me) has gone, it will be too late. But until she wants to get to know me, there's not very much I can do.
I guess I'm like your brother, Delilah, in that I'm the one who has a tumultuous relationship with my mum. My siblings seem to get on with her ok. But, unlike your brother I'd never hurt my mum. I help her with her finances and make sure all her bills get paid and that she's safe and well. But I do it out of a sense of duty. I wish things were different and I know it's down to me to try to sort it out before it's too late. Think I may have worked out my next challenge...
Pebbles - how are you? I hope you're doing ok. Please come by and say hello.
Congratulations to everyone celebrating a milestone today and 24 more for me please xxx

Welcome Coco and Minerva!! Sooo pleased to meet you.💕 This place is sooo amazing! Keep coming back and post as often as you need to! We’re all here to gather another day of blissful sobriety and recovery! I’m in for another 24 this spooky day!
Im a little frazzled today as I had some serious drunk dreams last night... I woke up and just for a minute I thought to myself “oh what have I done?” I felt for a minute today is going to really stink but then by the Grace of my higher power I realized I’m ok and I’m still sober!! Thank goodness!! I’m so grateful not to be nursing a hangover, not to be on that merry go round today!! I’ll hit a meeting, check in here and be surrounded by folks who understand and will encourage me through. Not today drink, NOT today!
Much love everyone💕

I love my drinking dreams Minion....I always says this....because I get a reminder of who I never want to be again, and then I get to wake up and be the woman I like....
So much love honey. ♥
