Thanks guys.
Day two going good. Totally unrelated though I had really bad cold chills last night. Like some kind of fever. Daughter woke up vith a very high temp so shes stayed home from school. I took the day off to look after her. So a bit of r&r for us.
Was all dressed and ready for work too.

I haven't checked how many sober days I have yet, but it is just over a month. Trying to figure out which treatment I need for ADHD, insomnia issues. New doctor. Alcohol was always my 'solution' to everything. It worked great for a long time, but caused problems eventually as we all here know. 42 years old now, finally realized what not to do! Keep it up October class! I am struggling with you!

Day 21/3 week mark. Pretty proud of myself. Life has busied up and I've had a ton of issues this past week, but I didn't turn to the drink and that's what matters most to me right now.

Scary Drunk Dream

Hi folks, I had a really horrible dream last night! I woke up and had to shake it off it was so scary! In the dream, I was at a hotel with my 3 kids. The kids were more or less props in the dream and not at all real, but they were there. I woke up from a strange stupor and there was a police man in the room with me. As I tried to piece together what had happened, I found a bottle of red wine that was about 3/4 gone. I had no recollection of drinking it but was horrified because I knew I had passed out. It felt so real. I then spent the better part of the dream talking to the police man and crying, etc. and trying to figure out what had happened. Why he was there, I don't know! He didn't arrest me or anything but seemed to understand I just wanted a nice night for myself with some wine and cheese, but everything went horribly wrong. I even said to myself, "I must be a worse alcoholic than I thought if this happened!" Anyway... it was just a dream, but a scary one and dipping into my subconscious mind and hitting my deep fears about my drinking.

In real life, I'm still sober and coming up on 2 weeks. Yay!! I have a busy busy week work wise and have been given a new project. I hope to get to yoga, but it's looking a little difficult until the weekend... maybe I can squeeze in a little home practice.

Have a great Tuesday!!

Juno11. I had a lot of weird alcohol and shame related dreams in early sobriety.

That's not who you are...

I haven't had a drinking dream in years now, so my subconscious must have worked that all out.

Hope you feel better, Sober81.

I will not buy any trigger foods today.

Juno, I had those dreams too. I think it was fear of relapse and shame from past drinking and relapse for me.

These days those dreams don't really happen much anymore--I agree with bim
that once the subconscious works it out it is no longer an issue.

sober, I got sick several times in early sobriety--maybe immunity is just lower while you detox? Staying in bed and resting is a great idea.

Congrats WastingLife, order, & Justin on some serious sober time--well done!

23 days for me and feeling good. Down about 10 pounds now which is a great reward for cutting the carbs.

Oct 30 Day 30
30 days seems like a landmark for me. I think it was a year or two ago since I have gone 30 days or more without getting wasted on alcohol. Without getting so drunk I did not have a humbling hangover that brought me to my knees in self pity, anxiety, and sickness the next morning. Thank you all for your support and accountability here on SR. That has really made the difference this time for me. Even in the darkest hours there is always hope. I am still unsure as to what my future with alcohol will be, but I do know I will not drink today.
I hope we all find the light that is sobriety.

Congrats on 30 days, Spiritman.

Keep it going. Onward to 60.

I really didn't feel like myself for nearly a year. Give it the time it needs.

Thanks for all of the inspiring stories everyone!! Another up and down month for me, unfortunately. The sobriety score is 23-7 but it really should have been 30-0.

I have bought the "30 Day Sobriety Solution" audiobook and will be giving that a listen later today.

I have never smoked but grew up in a household of smokers... I often dream about having a strong desire to smoke. The drinking dreams don't concern me... drinking in real life does though.
