Well, I love Bazza too Gilmer - the second movie (Barry McKenzie Holds His Own) (!) is not as good but still has its moments

Yeah, sequels are only very rarely as good as the originals—but I just finished and I admit that I haven’t quite had my fill!

I sort of doubt we’ll have the sequel, but I’ll certainly look!

Edit: Amazon Prime doesn’t have it, but it suggested that YouTube might. I don’t think I could stop myself from looking it up!

I just looked at that, Suze.

The sound quality probably wouldn't be very good, because it was not cut from a master--plus, I wonder if I'd be able to select subtitles. It's surprising how hard y'all are for me to understand!

I might just get it, though. YouTube does not have a recording of the full movie.

Hey.....maybe some new DVDs like that movie to add to the entertainment and you don't have to talk.....just: would anyone like popcorn?
Also if you like jigsaw puzzles......maybe have one set up somewhere? Could be a fun icebreaker. Have a good time!

Just a reminder peeps - no commercial links thanks.

I know ppl are trying to help and are not looking to sell stuff, but it doesn't matter what the intent, I have to go through and delete the link anyway.

You can always PM links.

Very interesting: director Bruce Beresford also made another one of my favorite movies, Tender Mercies, with Robert Duvall and Tess Harper.

Actually, PJ, it wasn’t oysters. The Asian market didn’t have what the book recommended, so he grabbed some cans of “extra strong Prawns with Curry!”

I just looked up Curling King. Unfortunately, it's not available for streaming, rent, or purchase, but the imdB review sounds very fun:

"Once a great curling star, Truls Paulsen is diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder and banned from competition. But when he learns that his old friend and coach Gordon is on his deathbed, Truls, heavily-medicated, decides to compete again, in the hopes of winning money for Gordon to have an operation in the US. Truls stops taking the meds and tries to convince his old team mates that he is mentally stable enough to lead them to victory in the Norwegian Curling Championship."
