One Year & Over Part 63
Another drive in the hills- discovered a pretty remote part- that is still recovering from wild fires 7 years ago- it looks like scorched earth. Mind- also found a few isolated gorges- am gonna do drawing in these locales. All the baby birds are just at that 'leave the nest' stage- minors and Maggie's...all terribly excitable..I saw one immature minor- hanging upside down on a fruit tree branch trying to work out how to get to the flowering blossoms.
Morning overs
Aw PJ, I love seeing the fledglings. Hope you had a good day.
Sassy, I did remember not to go to work!. I’m relishing it at the moment. My head was spinning with tasks and jobs I’ve set myself. I’ve had to write it all down, to steady myself. , I lost the last list, lol,
one of my cats, Missy, has brought the tiniest little mouse in and it is alive! I tried to catch it but it’s too fast! It’s gone under the freezer in the kitchen now. Trying other tactics now. Put chocolate in a box, hoping to trap it! Going to buy a friendly trap, doesn’t kill them. I hope it’s not pregnant!

Hey everyone, I've been trying to post on here for a bit but don't seem to be able to get anything out.
I had a birthday a couple weeks ago, my 40th. While I know it is just a number it still does feel weird and strange and different, like an age I still have to grow into.
I've had a change of plans with school, I'm taking two creative writing classes at another university, and one foundation art class at the art university.
Also love has come my way again but as usual is never straightforward. I'm trying very hard to stay centred and balanced.
Hope you all are doing well.......

Mags,
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! To trap the mouse just get a pail and DIY this:
It works for a non killing trap by leaving the water out, but it must be a five gallon bucket so the sides are too high for it to jump out. Then just pick up the bucket and take it to where you want to release. Peanut butter mixed with oatmeal/rolled oats mixture is the best bait. I actually bought a spring loaded plank. I do fill it with water. But we don't do cats so any we find are in the house or causing damage. They carry diseases we can catch directly, from their fleas, or their droppings.
Andy,
Subtitled dream?? That is weird.
Sassy,
Salami technique! I agree.
FBL,
I hear ya! I had 8 years three days ago and wouldn't trade them for anything. I'm recovered and hope every one gets here too.

PJ,
Whatever works bud! That drive would refresh anyone.
Suze,
You are right. Luxembourg has two or three languages and is tiny. When we lived in Germany we were an hour from Luxembourg City and visited many times in our seven years there in Herforst.
This is hilarious:
PJ,
Glad you feel better.
Star, you have a great day too.
Mags,
our first year of retirement RVing we felt like impending doom until we realized it was the old working life vacations rushing to cram everything into a limited time because we had to get back to go to work. It wasn't doom but impending resume. It took a year for us to learn how to be retired and relax. Sometimes I overdo it.
IP,
long time no read! Happy belated natal emergence anniversary!
Still hunting a town and house. I have to get a hair cut and do some shopping today. We had a brunch in lieu of our usual Sunday Humanist community meeting. only me , my SH, the group leader and one other made it. Our city library meeting room was not available so we four had a great lunch.
We have definitely left the drought behind. It poured torrential rains at last! The ground is wet again not rock hard after the light rains once a week at best.
I hope none of our members were in the flooded areas in the Carolinas.

Here in northern VA we didn't get much effect from Florence, but we've had rain most of the time throughout the summer, and now into fall.
I have never seen a summer with such lush, green grass! I feel like I'm in Ireland or something!
I'm not a big fan of cool, dreary days, but the landscape sure has been lovely!

Itchy, thanks, I may try that bucket to catch Stuart Little! Lol. I’m not sure if he’s still here tho. I went in the garden earlier and left the door open so I’m hoping he made a quick getaway.hes not had any food I put down so
Kathy, we usually have lush grass here, with the amount of rain we usually have but a lot of grass was yellow and barren with the heat or lack of rain.

Gil,
Glad you didn't get the flooding anyway. We were lush and green and wet here until the last decade or so. Our rain was gone for three years again. the weather patterns are changing along with the Gulfstream and other currents. Scary stuff. You doing OK?
Mags,
Well you know about it now And can trap him easily and humanely. And transport/release without contact. Hope he is gone too.
Wishing all the Overs are well and dry, but not too dry.
