A Different Path Part 2
Good Morning 'Gilbert'. . When my mother was going through chemo, my dad couldn't handle it. He stayed in the car. My mother used to call him 'The Rock'. 3 of us daughters were with my mother when she passed. My mother seemed to wait until my father had gone home for the night. We told her it was ok and that we would take care of Dad and promised to not argue among ourselves. LOL. As Saskia mentioned, she relaxed and was gone.
Hope you have a great day with your friend. (Kathy)

Hey Gil,
Wondering if you would consider a weekend trip up the Massachusetts?
It's not really all that far from VA.
You know when we dropped my daughter off to college in FL. we made it from Harrisonburg VA to MA in like 6 hrs.
A nice stay at the John Carver Inn and Spa in Plymouth.
Along with a whale watch out of Plymouth on Capt. John boats.
Local sites and possibly stopping in to visit a classmate.

I just might if I’m still alive and kicking in October! Thanks for the invitation, Bob!
I went to college on the first attempt at Smith College in western MA (Northampton). Autumn was crisp and beautiful. I’ll always have wonderful memories of it.

Glad to see that you are in such good spirits at this point Kathy. It is wonderful that your strong faith has given you the inner peace of mind needed to make the most of your remaining physical time here on the third rock. You continue to amaze and uplift me daily.
Have a great day!

hi Gilmer -- I don't know if you remember me from the early days in 2013. Despite my tag, I was a member of the January 2013 class as well. You "graduated" :-) to another class that year, but I still recall your many positive posts despite the obvious challenges you were facing at the time. I am 5.5 years sober now and much happier and very content, but I still lurk around SR every 6 months or so (reality check!), and I was saddened to read your latest thread. I wish you every comfort in the coming months and wanted you to know that I appreciated your posts in our ragged first weeks and months on SR. Hugs from Toronto! Liz G
