24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 397
Ugh it's sober day number 3, and today I'm struggling with rage and anger. I really didn't want to post... I gotta be honest, y'all annoy the hell out of me, all sober and celebrating, and I'm stuck here with my self-destructive self.
Sigh. I don't even know myself anymore.

Congratulations on your new job Sunny. Great news!
Snuf- I'm sorry you're in a funk. Day 3 and you're sober and not self harming. That's a plus in my book. I'm sending a giant Snuffy hug to you ((((SNUFFY))))

Lol, this Daily Truth from the Brave Girls Club is very fitting for me. I've thrown a lot of fits lately. Still sober though and no plans to change that!
Hope this Daily Truth helps someone else today. We're all Brave Girls & Guys!!
Your daily truth from Brave Living...
Dear Had-Enough Soul,
First...take a second and breathe, okay? Deep, deep, deep breaths...in and out. Close your eyes for a minute and remember that it's okay if you feel completely overwhelmed at the tasks that are ahead of you, at the choices you have to make, and at the burden of responsibility you are feeling.
It's okay if you just want to throw a fit some days and let someone else be in charge.
Now that you have that out of your system, think for a minute about how you really want the rest of the day to go...how you really want to feel, what you really want to accomplish, where you really want to end up.
Decide right this second that you are going to do ONE THING to take a step in that direction.
When that is done, take another step.
Don't let yucky feelings be in charge. YOU are in charge of how the rest of your day goes inside of your skin, head, and heart. YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH to choose how you REALLY want to feel. You really are.
If you must throw a fit first, go for it! But make it a good one because you have things to do when it's over.
It's the GOOD WORK of living the life that you want to live.
YOU ARE SO EXTRAORDINARY. Give yourself some credit.
You are loved,
xoxo

Wow!! Who would have thought football would be such an emotional roller coaster? England has been football-crazy the last couple of weeks and I have been completely swept up in it all. I watched the game against Sweden in a packed London pub - atmosphere was electric... I cheered so loudly I lost my voice after the penalty shootout against Columbia.... I couldn't watch the second half of the game against Croatia and I've just had to console my two sons who are devastated that England's run in this competition has come to an end. But didn't we do well?? So proud of our team. And so proud of me..... throughout the highs and the lows and the cheers and the tears, I didn't think about drinking once. Not once. And now that England's part in it is over, I have immediately returned to an even keel. And that's the beauty of sobriety..... you can still experience extremes of emotion but sobriety keeps you grounded, it keeps pulling you back to where you're supposed to be. So have faith anyone struggling. ....... stay strong and give sobriety enough of a chance to feel the difference. I'm so glad I did.... it's the best thing I ever did. 24 more for me please xxxx
