Barbs, I hope your sister in law is ok. That is a lot to deal with and drinking won’t help. Meditation sounds like a good idea. Keep us updated on how you’re doing x

You need to stay calm and rational. The last thing you need to do is drink alcohol and make the situation worse. You can't be supportive and helpful if you are intoxicated. Stay sober.

We had to call the police to do a wellness check on my SIL. They have committed her, so we know she is safe for now. She sent me text asking me to pick her up when she calls. I think I'm going to turn my phone off and let my BIL take care of it.

For now, I'm just hanging out with the puppies. Don't plan on drinking today! Thanks for the support guys, very much appreciated.

Barbs, I'm so glad your SIL is safe and you made it through sober. You'll be able to provide support with a clear head (and less anxiety tomorrow). Way to go.

Thoughts being sent your way Barbs.
I've been getting trashed again as well. Maybe we can both start over and use the support of our classmates. I almost chucked SR.....no, not another class, etc.

So.....maybe we start over with the support of some of our experienced ppl?

All the best.....

Glad you are back here at SR. The December Class of 2017 is home to us. We are glad that you came home to regroup and start again. Is this your Day 1?

Good to see you back canguy! This class is home to me too, I couldn't even think about joining another one. I know we can do this if we really want to. I was starting to scare myself with how quickly my drinking escalated.

My SIL will be in the hospital for at least 3-5 days, hopefully longer. She really needs the help. I was glad I was sober when the social worker called me to discuss her care Thanks for all the support, it was a long, tough night.

Barbs, I'm so glad your SIL is in the hands of qualified professionals. Hopefully, when they release her she will have a solid plan of support.

Canguy, welcome back to you too! This is a really good class for people to come in and out as needed. You may or may not also want to lurk in the July/August classes too, as I said to bobdrop, when it comes to SR I believe that more is more (of course, I speak as a class double-dipper myself!)

How are you doing today canguy?

I didn't sleep much last night, hoping to sleep better tonight. Lots of anxiety, but I managed to make it through another day

Hi everyone. This group will always remain precious to my heart as well. I'm trying to be sober again and am currently on night 3 and just about to go to bed.

I'm currently in August 2018 group as well.

I missed you all and thought of you often. I just cannot post on here when I'm drinking.

Hi class. Good to hear from you again Canguy and JT. I am one that has recently started over but just can't leave this group. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks in and also post in July.

Barbs-Glad your SIL is getting help.

Hi Emme, Chloe and Palmer.

I finally made it to the cardiologist today. I was very anxious over this as I've been waiting on this for 6 months of almost non-drinking. As it turns out, my heart has made dramatic improvements. Could not have gone better. This a definite result of not drinking. I'm optimistic again about my health moving forward. Have not been eating well lately, but now I'm really motivated to get back on the anti-inflammatory way of eating again. Time to start taking on challenges again!

Wow!!! Haven’t been on SR for a few months - just catching up - happy to see so many people doing well. Haven’t been able to read everything yet though. For those still struggling, I tried to quit for 15 years. Never succeeded past the next social event. Now one week away from 8 months sober. Drinking is no longer a part of my life. Never thought I’d be here. But if I can do it, SO CAN YOU! Don’t give up.

Good morning everyone.

Hi Tony and strawberry, glad the both of you are still hanging in there

Congratulations Maggie!!!

Still not sleeping well, too much anxiety. I don't know how, but I managed to get to my 6am spin class. I barely made it through the class, but I'm glad I went.

Going to work today and then hopefully mow the lawn that is about 6" too high. Hubby is working late tonight so I need to find something to keep myself busy.

Bobdrop, that is such awesome news about your heart health!!! Maybe there's something to this sobriety thing after all! Such a huge relief, I'm really happy for you.
