Class of March 2016 part 70
Remember “Clippy,” the helpful paper clip who would pop up unexpectedly in Office software, asking if you needed help? He was highly annoying with his stupid suggestions from The Book of Duh. “May I suggest you take off the cap lock button to avoid shouting at your audience?”....In like a Gomer Pyle kind of voice. Today is Clippy’s Day, so shout out to him! Clippy, I turned off your functionality..sorry...well maybe not, but I have only love in my heart!

I could actually use a Clippy helper in real life.
“Hey Lillian, you look like you’re struggling with sobriety. May I suggest a snack and a nap?”

Happy bday PR and congrats on 60 day Sam
welcome BD
I'm glad you're back Lillian - whether its' self sabotage or just an opportunistic addiction you know the way out - its the same either way
Looking forward to you posting regularly again.

Welcome to the group BullDog.
Sorry to hear the humidity is hurting you Suze. Over the years I’ve developed an issue with it as well. My strategy is simply to avoid it as much as possible. Yeah, not very helpful but after twenty years of feeling awful on some of those days it’s the best I have.
Welcome back Lillian! Good to see you. I along with others read about that congressman. I think a better story may be that of Austin Seferian-Jenkins (NFL player): he recognized his problem after many issues, worked on it and is now trying to help a fellow player who also has alcohol issues. I think often of this place in that regard. He’s a year plus sober and trying to pay it forward as so many here do.
Congrats on 60 days Sam! Just keep that resolve and I’ve no doubt you’ll keep it going.
Hi Purps!
Happy birthday PR!
I’ve thought about leaving my job as well MITA. Thankfully have not done so. Seems you did just fine on the job front though. Suze is certainly onto something with the mind shift. It’s a lesson I could definitely learn.
Thank you Bobbie for posting the dailies. While I’m not an AA person, it helps me to gain clarity.
Paper clip day – the hell? It’s a bent piece of metal. Who cares? And I also remember Clippy in a less than fond way.
Keep rocking your sobriety as it inspires me and surely others. You made a reference a few days ago about swinging and hitting the ball. It struck a chord with me as I initially sucked at baseball when I was young, much like I suck at sobriety now. Thanks.
PJ, it could not be anything but bittersweet seeing your son. I am happy for you that you had that opportunity. As others have said, I hope it’s a launching pad to a renewed relationship. You deserve it.
The question on everyone’s mind has to be whether bbg would hug a paperclip. Would you? Congrats on your continued sobriety. You, like everyone else, rock.
To the missing, again, please check in. Casey, Mish, Kiki, Pel, CH, LB, Missy, Keets and all I’ve missed.

Each time I think I've turned the corner and won't drink I fail. I know better. I do it anyway.
Perhaps a lobotomy? I'm seriously baffled by the choices I make which prove I simply don't care. It's screwed up and I have no answers. Seeing the doc this week so maybe that and blood work will...you know.
