9:48 pm in california and checking in for another 24. I got home late from my daughter's league finals yesterday, and forgot to check in! She ended up winning the 1600 for the league, so she gets to advance to County Championships. Only the first place person gets to go, so she is very excited. I do not know if she'll get to move beyond the first round, but she is very excited to make it to county as a Freshman.
I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I've been a little under the weather still this week. I was actually sent home today because my boss told me I was going to get everyone sick, so I worked from home the rest of the day.
Congrats to all of our Milestoners. I need to read through and find out how Jo is doing, she has been on my mind.❤️

Thanks so much for all the kind replies yesterday.... you guys really are the best. I went for a long run with my son yesterday evening which made me feel so much better. I've definitely replaced drinking with running at the moment..... not sure if this is entirely healthy .... it's much better than drinking so I'm sticking with it for now.

I picked up a couple of 1950's dolls in these last couple of weeks. I've become obsessed with finding info, where I can get new dresses, hair, etc. still searching! I don't sew, but there are original patterns for sale.
Can I make them really pretty again? HaHa without spending a fortune either! If you're curious, I picked up a 17" Alexander 'MAGGIE' doll . And an Ideal Toni (or Pre-Toni, depending on my info) 19" doll.
And, that's where my mind has been the last couple of weeks ...
Of course, I'm also checking in for my next 24 hours.

Good morning dearest 24ers.
It's my day off today and I'm going over to visit my friend who is struggling with her son. I am a little nervous (for really no reason just out of my comfort zones) but it will be great to see her and have a good chat and hopefully coffee and a huge piece of cake! I'm not going to mention my own love-life situ I don't think. I'm going to support her and frankly it'll be nice to not think about it for a while.
Big supportive love to jsm, Alex, Snufkin and anyone else struggling. Suze don't forget we have our lyddie love-in later today!

I'm listening to P. P. Arnold's First Cut is the Deepest on Spotify as I type this. A brilliant song.
Many years ago I used to work in a shop in Camden Town and one day it was completely dead, no customers, nothing to do, so I put this same song on and cranked it up really loud. A moment later this woman came into the shop. She stared at me, looking amazed. "You're playing my song!" she said. I thought she meant that it was her favourite song. But what she meant was it was her song! She was P. P. Arnold and she happened to be walking past. She was so choked up that someone 'young' (I was in my 20s then) was playing her music.
A happy memory.
