Just been to aquafit. Piece of cake I hear you say. Oh no dear 24ers! Aquafit BOOT CAMP!!!!!!

Then the old dears came over to see if I enjoyed it. Not a bead of sweat or a red face among them! I myself was purple and struggling to speak. Margaret (head of the granny ninjas) took great pleasure in telling me she was 82 and this is her favourite class! What????

24 please! First field trip at work and it was high schoolers! Did two guided hikes and a stream ecology class. I'm exhausted! Just showered and sitting on the porch letting my hair dry trying to get some color on my pale legs. It's amazing how easy it is to enjoy the little things when I'm not worried getting the correct level of drunk, which I never could get right! I'm so grateful.

A lot of happy people positive people funny people wow, what sobriety that’s eh!
Instead of saving money I went and spent money new work boots no holes in them that means no water going in, dry feet’s, new to me used rain jacket for work need in Vancouver where 10 months of the year rains even with surprise rain during summer .

I've been thinking about my appearance recently. Not on a vain way but it struck me that I never really looked at myself for a long time . Not properly. I've aged.
Saggy body, wrinkles, more greys and of course a spread in the waistline. But do you know what? I don't care as much as I thought I might. I wear my wrinkles and grey hairs as trophies of my fight for sobriety. I earned them. From every sleepless anxiety ridden night and every flood of tears I shed through those acute AV attacks.
Yes okay I'd love to look younger but I think wearing my "scars" from the fight for my life is actually something to strive for. Pretty amazing eh?

Oh my gosh.....jotick......I have tears running down my face.....I can just hear your mum now.....my dad was a Londoner....would have asked me what kind of right idiot I was and did I know what would happen when I put the heat back on?
