24Hour Recovery Connections Part 364
Its been an odd day. Felt physically out of sorts and maybe headache is a need to visit my chiropractor. Found out from my sister today that mum has vascular dementia. Its very sad and although i havent see my mum since dad died some 4 years ago these things still make me, well churned up i guess. Although i doubt i will ever see my mum alive again it doesnt take away the sadness that i have longed for that maternal relationship i have now accepted my narcissistic mother was never capable of giving. People often say "You dont have contact with your mum? But she's your mum!" but they dont understand the damage having contact with her does to me and so it is better for me to adopt the no contact status. Took a lot of counselling to get there. Sure it will feel better in the morning. Tomorrow afternoon i am starting my volunteering at the local food bank so hopefully i will.be able to help some folks. I also took out a litter grabber today whilst walking the dogs and filled a carrier bag. Feels wholesome to contribute rather than spending my whole life on the alcohol revolving door.
All the best everyone. See you tomorrow. Xx

"I've seen better days, but I've also seen worse. I don't have everything that I want, but I do have all I need. I woke up with some ache and pains, but I woke up. My life may not be perfect but I am blessed." -this one made me think of you! Rock the day mi amigo!!!

I’ve been awol for a few days. Don’t know why but, some bitterness has been building up in me. Anyway I remained sober during my absence!
Congratulations to today’s celebrants and all who are sober today!
When I awoke this morning it was in the mis 20’s F*. Yep, the first sighting of people wearing shorts was made.

My mum had vascular dementia and alzheimer's. And a slew of other things.....here for you baby with love and hopefully some experience that might be helpful. ♥
Thanks Venus. My wonderful lovely dad had leweys body dementia, alzheimers and parkinson. Its a long and very hard road. Although he died 4 years ago we lost him many years before that. Those types of illness are very selfish as they take from everyone. So sorry youve had to go through it too. ❤❤
