The Power Of Sobriety Thread (POST!) #6
Kathy, you fill me with wonder. Even though I know the cancer is real, my brain wants to reject what you say. You are one of the most admirable and appealing people I've ever met. Along your way to the inevitable whatever, I'll try to be a steady friend.
Kathy, I am truly sorry about your diagnosis. I hope that your deep spirituality will give you the strength and determination to live life to the fullest. You have encouraged so many people on SR to help make a better life for themselves. I will be thinking of you and your travails constantly, and sending you whatever strength I can to help you in your time of need.
Joined my very first Shair Recovery meeting last night. It's a private FB group that holds online meetings several times per week. They use Zoom software, so we can all see and hear each other face-to-face. It's really quite remarkable how far we've come, technologically speaking. Anyway, it got me thinking how cool would it be to have a "Posties" online meeting some day?!? I'm not sure how the logistics would work, I'm just throwing the idea out there. Any feedback would be appreciated.
I am sure that something could be arranged with all the technology available today. That might be pretty cool.
Omar must be quite the personality in real life, as he exudes tons on the webcast.
Kathy, the water has been amazing this week in New Jersey. Raining a bit today, but nothing but lovely days up to this point. I hope you have great weather for your New Jersey jaunt next week!
Make the most of the day everyone!

My podcast episode doesn't record until August 13. It should air a few weeks after that. You can be sure I'll keep you all posted.
Omar is the real deal. He's very passionate about recovery. Great sense of humor too.
I've never hosted a Zoom meeting before, but it looks pretty easy. We all agree on a date and time and I e-mail everyone the link when it's ready to start. I don't think you have to be registered with Zoom to join the meeting. I'm just registered with the free plan, so each meeting can last only 40 minutes. I guess the tough part would be finding a time when we could all join in. Weekends work best for me. I'd need to have your e-mail address, so if that's a problem, I'd understand. I had such a great time at last night's meeting. The whole face-to-face thing brings a whole new dimension. I think we'd have a fun time with it.
Drop me a PM if you want to discuss it further.
