Morning All, signing in for 24 - and that includes NO cigarettes.
(Coffee ain't going nowhere, though!)

Hey Gabe - yes, the old deep-fried Mars Bar. I'm a Londoner, born and bred, and it's the first time I've seen one on the menu down here. Even had Irn Bru batter! Is that the way they make them up your way? I had it with ice cream and shortbread - gotta say it was good, but I felt the sugar crash in my soul.

Love to all of you out there, wishing everyone a peaceful day. Hope you're feeling better Leigh.

I feel really sad about Ant McPartlin. Like most people in the UK, I grew up watching him and Dec on tv and my kids absolutely adore the pair of them. We all snuggled on the sofa and watched them on saturday night.... I thought it was a bit inappropriate when he was filmed drinking a pretend pint of guiness for St Patricks day... everyone knows he's a recovering alcoholic, what message does that send? Anyway, the fact is, he could have killed people when he got behind the wheel of his car yesterday and he is extremely lucky that he didn't. But imagine how he's feeling today? His shame and fall from grace will be reported into every home in the UK and the world. Can his career recover from this? Does he deserve his career to recover from this? I have no idea, I'm not clever enough to have any answers. I just feel sad. And determined to do my little bit to fight the horror that is addiction. It would be good if society did a little more too. Stop filming well-known recovering alcoholics drinking pretend alcoholic drinks... that would be a start. Congrats to everyone celebrating a milestone today. ... 24 more for me please xxx

I had to google Ant Mc. The bigger they are....
In Aust. the celebs who seems to fall the hardest are sporting icons, often from Australian Rules footy. Young men with a talent for sport, who rocket up the social scale with fame and money- but often with no skills or support to mature with their now roles.
Long day- the times, for me are a changin'.
24 for all.
Don't drink. It's dumb.

Oh, I just love this so so much! There's nothing like animals to remind us of how wonderful the world really is. And I love how you really see him and want to continue doing so. Me too! Me too!

Dee, thanks for starting this thread.

Leigh, hope you are feeling better soon!

Gabe, glad to hear you're tackling the inner critic. That one can be a beast and for me is taking counseling with a professional. It's an ongoing switch to awareness instead of the autopilot voice (kinda like the AV could be, I guess).

I'm settling into my skin again and would like this week to be another blank page (I'm still holding onto Dee's analogy from the other day). I'd like to fill it accomplishment and steadiness, with self-compassion and gentleness. 24 more over here.

Happy day to all of you. So glad you are here. Sending you kindness and love through each moment!

Oh my goodness me Jack, I can't believe that particular delicacy has travelled so far!! They sometimes pop up in the chip shops
on mainland Scotland (I'm in Orkney) but they are toooo sweet for me. Irn Bru batter? Never heard it done that way. Very creative. I wouldn't recommend more than one a year! Just for the health of your soul! Xx

Hey Dizzy. Yeah, it's not the easiest thing to change but I'm getting there. Sometimes it's sneaky and I don't realise how hard I am on myself about everything. It just takes practice. I just keep thing that I'm not living like this anymore. I'm really glad to here you are getting help with it too. X

Thanks again for another thread Dee!! 💗
