My eldest is home from University for the weekend and when he was home for Christmas I promised that next time he was home we'd go out for a meal, he's been asking me all day about it.
I've just agreed that we will go in the next couple of hours, starting to feel a little anxious now.... I've gone 12 days without alcohol I should be able to make it through a meal without ordering a glass of wine, you can do this Jaffa 👍👍

Hi all,
I had a lot of catching up/reading to do. The support I'm seeing to and from members is awesome!
Mamakazi, you've got this. Have a plan and stick to it! 12 days is a lot of momentum and you'll keep it going.
It's a pretty relaxing day here in the cold North East. My son is playing electronics and my wife and I are watching the Hallmark Channel while she grades papers. I'm riding out day 3 and feeling strong and optimistic, but I'm on verge of getting a little antsy. I guess I'll go find something productive to do which includes posting here.
Well, let's keep it a sober weekend, gang.
See ya!

But I'm getting better at riding out the discomfort. You can too!

Hey everyone! I spent the day cleaning. My house looks better but I'm tired! Trying to find something on t.v., drinking juice and thinking about ice cream. Will feel better tomorrow I think!
Hang in there everyone. It's great to see so many people posting. I know we can do this.

Hello all! A quick check in to say I’m still doing well. It’s been an incredibly busy weekend and not a lot of thoughts about the wine. So that’s a wonderful feeling.
I, too, have come to appreciate the morning all over again. The peace and calm I can begin my day with is priceless.
Welcome to all the new Feb friends!

Just checking in since I haven’t posted- but still following the thread.
So basically, I have 2 different day counting situations.
I am technically on day 1, laying down for bed sober. Day 2 tomorrow. Yesterday I went out to dinner had 1 glass of wine and then had a glass of wine when I got home with my husband- which finished my bottle. Done! Bye! No more wine in the house. My husband drinks whiskey on occasion but that doesn’t tempt me.
I am on day 4 if no sneak drinking. Which was when I did most drinking. Pretty much all of it. It was out of control. Morning to night. Embarrassed to even say more details then that.
I’m not trying to moderate. I recognize if I don’t drink at all, sneak drinking won’t be an issue at all either. But happy i didn’t just throw in the towel and start the downward spiral.
Just like a lot of you. Looking forward to a sober morning. Nite and say ya in official day 2

I joined the forum so I could join this thread in particular. I stopped drinking on 31 January. I'm determined that I won't drink in February (or beyond, but first I need to get February down).
My body doesn't tolerate it any more either. It's taken me a while to accept that, but now I want to stop poisoning myself.
I could quote almost every post in this thread, I relate so much.
Weekends at home like this weekend are the easiest for me. I'm making the most of these two days to set myself up for the coming week, which is going to be busy with work and socialising.
Doing some cooking and cleaning today. Luckily I find this relaxing as long as I have time. Also some restful relaxation reading next to a sunny window.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Happy sober Sunday all!
Just checking in to say that I'm currently on Day 11 and feeling much fresher today...the cobwebs are clearing! Feels like I've finally turned the corner - if that makes sense?
Was up and at it before the rest of the world woke this morning and enjoyed a solitary walk in the countryside with my puppies - I cannot recommend sober weekend mornings enough...pure and utter bliss!
Hope you're all doing well?
Have a great day/night!
