24Hour Recovery Connection Part 337
Thanks Suze, I do not think the Director is a big fan of mine, but that is okay.
Hi,
The night got away from me, so I'm here to check in for my next 24.
Delilah, thank goodness you are sober. With our parents needing us in their later years, I know my sobriety is truly a gift from my HP. As is yours' . A big hug to you my friend.

Hi all I'm in with those of us with elderly frail parents who need a lot of looking after along with our own families and work. Its a potential trigger at times for me but I've recognised it for that and if its getting too much I have to down tools and do the self care thing...
Hope you are on the mend Suze?
I'm in for 24..

Good morning everyone.
Yes Delilah and Martina and Bobbie being reliable and present for your parents is such a wonderful thing. I think it's that thing of being reliable and trustworthy now that really does give me the most self respect in sobriety so far. It's like I can at last try my hand at being a real grown up adult. Sounds strange aged 46 but it's still all very new. Slowly I can feel a little more capable each day.
Speaking of being supportive to parents I wonder how our Red is doing? Check in soon Red we want to hear all aboit your travels honey! ❤❤❤
24 more for me please!
Lots of love ❤❤❤

Wow, 12 year old daughters... they can be an interesting lot, can't they? I just googled 'what has happened to my 12 year old daughter?' because she used to be so loving and adorable and now... not so much. I was pleased to read that the mood swings, door slamming and random attacking of siblings is normal and to be expected. The advice seems to be to pick my battles (they don't see mess apparently), let her know I love her and try not to do anything embarrassing. Ever. Thank heavens I'm sober.... I'm going to have 4 teenagers in this house in a few years.... it's going to be a hormonal mine field. ... at least life should never be dull.
I'm so glad you stood your ground with the care home Delilah. I had to go into battle on behalf of my dad on a number of occasions when he was in the pysch ward and then the hospice. It can be so difficult being assertive in such an emotional set of circumstances but standing up for the ones we love when they're vulnerable and need our help the most.... well, that's the true definition of love. I just hope that one day when I'm vulnerable, someone will go into battle for me. Although from the look my 12 year old daughter gave me this morning, I don't fancy my chances!!!
Congrats milestoners. 24 more for me please xxxx

Wonderful posts this morning. Thanks.
0231 January thaw...a few day respite from frigid temps.
Doing well but my sleeping/dreaming is all screwed up.
Sickening dreams I force myself to wake from.
Sleeping too much during the day.
Then a couple hours at a time at night.
Lacking energy and motivation.
Not to worry I will work through it. Grateful
to be working closely with 2 "mental chiropractors" (always wanted to use that term)! lol.
