In the midst of a nasty blizzard here 💨🤤⛇
Getting a bit nervous as snowstorms were always a huge excuse to drink...recall running to the bottle shop to stock up whenever snow was predicted. It became a trigger for relapse in early recovery (I "quit" two years ago December so that was a long winter). Am 100% confident I won't drink, but thinking about others in early recovery, especially a friend who recently started his journey to recovery. Honestly I originally thought the hardest part would be summer, with boating, picnics, etc..but the days of being trapped inside due to cold and snow were what made me cave.

Vibes to all who are struggling - it does get better 🤗❤🤗

Hey all

Checking in at 7:31 am from Ashburn, VA, USA.

Good afternoon everyone.
Finishing work early as I'm collecting my girls from town at 2. Yippee!
Quick tidy up and prepare tonight's dinner first.
I'm so pleased I've stayed sober this week. The old me would have rushed home to drink myself silly behind their backs.
*shudder*
I've had quite a testing work week. One of our clients has decided I'm just not up to the job of doing his quarterly vat and also doesn't seem to like me very much. It's really hard not to rise to the bait of sarcastic and frankly rude emails. I am trying really I am but he's pressing my buttons and it's taking everything I've got not to bite back. Yes my ego is bruised by it all too so I'm going to try my best to rise above it. Not easy for this recovering alcoholic with mild ego-maniac tendencies! :headbange
Anyhoo......off to tidy. Have a lovely day all xxx
