Class of January Support Thread 2018
Hi, all. I was in a previous class and am back.
https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...-out-back.html (Out and back....)
Look forward to moving onward and embracing sobriety, as opposed to fighting it. Day 3 here. NY day feels good with hot coffee and a clear head.

Hi! Day 4 ending. I haven't thought of drinking at all today even tho I went out with friends tonight. I said I was doing Dry January but I didn't want them to hold back on my account. One had a couple of beers and I honestly didn't feel tempted.
I have felt a bit dizzy and lightheaded. Maybe not enough water? I have read that when you stop your body holds on to water and it can take a while to balance itself out. I have started buying coconut water. When I was drinking it seemed very expensive but now I don't mind because its like a treat, a special drink. Also got a few new fruit teas to vary it up a bit.
Have a good Jan 1 wherever you are! Hello to all the newbies that have joined and to the ones I have already met like Sunflower, Delilah, ReadyAtLast, Chloe and of course Dee!
Suggestion for month name The January Dryers? Dryers for short?

Tang hello.
I am sure we have all had bumpy times. Mine seem to have been every month but lets try to support each other, take it a day at a time and dont think about expectations either low ones or high ones.
Its worth our best efforts.

Hi Class of Jan 18
I am from the Jan 17 class and one year sober today.
Over the next week or so classmates from our wonderful support group hit their one year goals also. It was/is a hard journey for us all, with a lot of physical and mental ups and downs but is possible. Even if the changes happen far slower than your anticipate.
A few classmates slipped over the year and rejoined and it has been great to see them back . We are all kind of connected now as have been through so much..
Being a group, sharing all the differences and similarities was the key. In my case, counting days and posting daily helped. Even when I had nothing to say. It was the routine.
To echo what Dee and Delilah have, far more eloquently said, this class is a real gift and it can turn your life around.
Have a healthy, happy and sober 2018.

Happy New year everyone!😘
I can not believe how excited I feel to leave 2017 behind and start a fresh new chapter in my life! I woke up as fresh as a daisy this morning! And took myself off for a glorious walk around a beautiful river! It was Frosty but so refreshing!
Im on day 3 but today is the first day of the rest of my life!
Feeling strong and positive! Looking forward to getting to know everyone in the January class! 😁 x

Happy New Year, everyone!
I've been a member of a few classes and get some false courage when I hit the 30 day mark and think I can safely moderate. I can't. Time and time again it ends up the same way.
I have a renewed commitment to sobriety and have to come up with some new tools. Being more active on this site is one of them.
Today is Day 2 for me. Always nice to wake up without a hangover.

Hello January class glad to see y’all taking steps to start a healthy alcohol free journey I’m from December class this site has help me a lot I couldn’t do it without everyone’s help and support!!! Post before you drink don’t ever give up addiction isn’t easy you can’t undo everything over night but one day at a time you can starve your AV and weaken your addiction and start recovery promise you it’s worth it I’ve had multiple day 1s but it’s better then no day 1s I’m back to day 3 but as I told my December group it’s a new year and I can say I haven’t been drunk this year and that sound pretty amazing to me hopefully you do the same best wishes stay strong I believe in you !!
