Thanks all for the Birthday greetings! I celebrated by making some serious progress on my book project.

Have a great Wednesday, all!

I finally got some progress made on my never-ending craft project last night.

I never thought I’d see this day, but I see the end in sight!

A major victory over procrastination when it comes to something unpleasant!

I saw my sister. She's thoroughly hooked up to tubes but she was lucid and we (my other sister and I) made her smile. She's apparently still sober, so that's all 3 of us. Each one day at a time. Good for my parents' daughters.

Courage, sending thoughts and prayers to your family.

More work on my book today. Slow and steady wins the race.

Have a great Thursday, gang!

Thanks for your well wishes to my sibling, everyone. I'm going to text her the "power to the sisterhood" message -- she'll like that.

I guess I don't have as much emotional detachment as I thought. Which is I guess a good thing, part of that whole humanity thing, but a bit stressful. I've been having many more stray thoughts of drinking than any time recently. They're not tempting for more than 1/2 a second, though.

Thx FBL. I'm good. A little worried about going back by myself to NYC but I have pretty good strategies now (I hope).

I’m glad you’re strong enough to parry those tempting thoughts away, Cour; but, still, I’m sorry you’re being bombarded with them.

Maybe you can shock your mind into submission by getting absorbed in some form of entertainment.

Speaking of quality diversions, my daughter bought me a copy of Joan Rivers Confidential for Christmas!

I hope you sleep well.

The AV always dusts itself off in times of personal turmoil. Hang in there and stare it down. Safe travels back to the snowy East Coast.

Like I said, I'm good, she's the bad one. It would be outrageously selfish (and typically alcoholic) for me to use her illness as an excuse for a relapse or even moping around. I talked to her today. She's exhausted & in pain & I'll be surprised if they don't keep her until next Monday at least. I'll go see her again tomorrow.

Courage - ODAAT my friend. I’m sending positive thoughts and prayers for your sister, and you too.

The snow has turned my life upside down the past couple of days. I am expected to be on the office regardless of weather, and my department offers hotel rooms for those of us who do not want to commute in the snow. I’m a bit worn down because I was just away in a hotel last weekend, and now back in one for two more nights. Everyone from the office is getting along well, but I can’t wait to see my family tomorrow night.

People are drinking. I don’t feel like I’m missing out. My first winter sober I was miserable that I “couldn't“ drink. Now I can’t inagine the joy, confidence and peace of mind that I’d lose if I did.

That sounds rather ghastly, glee. One more day and you'll be home!

Glee, I'm glad that you are getting put up in a hotel. I just get forced to drive multiple hours a day fighting the snow to get to work just to open the store for practically no one. Oh winter...

Have a good day all!

I hope the roads are passable soon see you can get home, Glee.

SG, I hope some desperate crackpot is out of milk today to justify your efforts!

Glee, at least you get a hotel room! I'm seriously thinking about setting up a cot in my office until this project is out the door.

Cour, continued thoughts and prayers headed your way.

Have a great Friday, all!

Sister nixed today's visit -- she's just been unplugged and is feeling anewly-beat up. So I can hang in the 75 degree warmth and sunshine
