24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 322
As an after though, what scares me more is that NOTHING bad is happening in my life. In happy with work, a relationship, family, the holidays (I usually hate this time of year).
What happens when something bad happens, can I be this strong again? I'm really starting to doubt I can do this and it sucks.
Just processing things in different ways I suppose, and I'm an overthinker. Any reading material you guys can recommend, I'm all for it.
Thanks all.

I don't think you are over-thinking at all....this is good stuff....you have already inspired a huge recovery talk between Nick and I this morning....
I will make a reading list.....and I'm sure other people here will as well.
We can put it all together for everyone on the thread....
Whatever you are feeling right now, please take this thought out with you today: you can do this. You are doing this. One day at a time you are making yourself strong and whole and happy. That's awesome SS.

Morning lovely people
24 more for this alcoholic soul.
When one is a stranger to oneself, then one is estranged from others, too.
—Anne Morrow Lindbergh
There's a person inside each of us just itching to be known and loved. But if we don't get to know and love that person, how can we expect anyone else to know us?
That's why it's so important to spend time alone getting acquainted with ourselves. And how do we do that? We can sit quietly with ourselves, thinking and listening. Then we can write our thoughts in a journal, or we can draw or paint them. If we play a musical instrument, we can put our thoughts and feelings into music.
When we make the time and effort to know ourselves, it encourages others to want to know us, too. Since everything we do and feel begins inside us, we must feel good about ourselves in order to feel good about anything else. What wonders we are, that we have all the power we need to make our world a happy one!

Good afternoon,
24 for Red on a freakishly warm December day. Maybe I should think about yard work—or save it for when the weather is awful next week! Yeah!
Congratulations to Canadian Koala and Stronger, and everyone celebrating a milestone today.

Checking in before bed. 24 hours please.
Was in the gas station staring at the alcohol and was convinced I was walking out with some tonight. I feel like I'm getting weaker, not stronger, as time passes. I didn't want to be sober tonight. I didn't even care about the feelings of the past or future. I walked out empty handed and not exactly sure how.
I don't think I've fully accepted a lifetime of sobriety yet. I know I haven't. I still want my best friend in my life to be good to me and not bad. In filling my head with scenarios that logically I know aren't realistic.
Good night friends, here's to another sober sleep.

You'll be so glad you did. Promise!
