24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 322
Dearest Kris, how your poem made me smile and reminded me of a favourite poem of my own. I though it was from GMH, who really can write, but no, it turns out to be from R S Thomas, the greatest religious poet of all time, I used to think, but no that would be the psalmist. Nothing contentious here!!!
The Bright Field
I have seen the sun break through
to illuminate a small field
for a while, and gone my way
and forgotten it. But that was the
pearl of great price, the one field that had
treasure in it. I realise now
that I must give all that I have
to possess it. Life is not hurrying
on to a receding future, nor hankering after
an imagined past. It is the turning
aside like Moses to the miracle
of the lit bush, to a brightness
that seemed as transitory as your youth
once, but is the eternity that awaits you.

That makes me sad. But really very happy to hear that she is doing well; please give her my love of you speak with her.

London has really changed in the last decades. You will find almost every cuisine imaginable.
I try to stay with all things British when I am there - their meat pies and stews, etc. Caution: some meat pies and stews contain alcohol; I had one without realizing it until after the meal. I couldn't discern the taste of alcohol (and was surprised when I learned) but others may and find it triggering?
I miss them all too. I wish them all nothing but green grass and high tides
You will Susiegirl! You're doing so great right now and its wonderful seeing you here racking up some great sober time
