Morning gang!
It struck me last night that whilst I'm focussing on life and all that brings I've taken my foot a teeny weeny bit off the gas of the number one focus. The reason I found SR in the first place. I'm an alcoholic in the early days of recovery.
Life throws so much mind-clutter our way. Work, kids, family, Christmas, deadlines......if all of that takes centre stage I'm putting myself in potential danger. Time to refocus a little I think. Remind myself that this thing can't be rushed. I'm far from being "better" so yes whilst it's no longer a daily struggle that nasty addiction still lurks inside me and I need to be vigilant to the signs and stay true to my commitment. Nothing is more important than getting my head on the pillow sober each night. I still believe that's as true now as it has ever been.
Vman you may not realise but you've helped me and potentially many others by being open and honest this weekend. Addiction is patient and I for one need to remain vigilant every day.
