Hope a night's sleep will help Free .

Management seems to have found someone to work Wed. and Friday nights, ...so I'm officially PT working Sun. and Mon. nights !

It feels good,..so far. Have been considering applying for a position here during the day next Spring. It's a two day a week job they have a hard time keeping anyone involved with,.... A Friday, and Saturday schedule,...which would be worth it to me ,...to get away from working nights anymore.
,......Hopefully they'd keep my pay schedule the same. That would be the only deal breaker,...with such limited hours and all.

Hooray, at last, they've sorted out your schedule, Tops !
I think it's hard working night's, though. It must throw your whole diurnal rhythm out of quilter each week. It would be great to get back to days if that's possible, later on.

My back isn't too bad this morning. I think there's a high probability that I'm actually a whimp - some time ago, I caught my finger in a clothes dryer as I was collapsing it, and I almost fainted, I was convinced my finger would have been permanently damaged...yet the following day it was absolutely fine, not even a red mark. I'm not complaining, but it was difficult to get any sympathy when no one could see evidence of the unprecedented attack of the dryer.
Anyway, I'm hoping today goes well, I'm looking forward to meeting the team I'll be working with.
It's turning out to be a busy week, my sister is in a hospital in Birmingham, and I'll be travelling up there some time this week to bring her home. It'll be interesting trying to get her in the car wearing a full length plaster, she's quite long legged, so I hope the seats push back far enough, otherwise she'll have to spend the 4hr journey sitting with her leg hanging out of the window

It's the start of another week here, hope everyone's doing well.

For whatever reason, it didn't occur to me the first few times in a car just after the knee replacement surgery how much easier it was to slide in ( butt first ) into the back seat and ride along with my leg stretched out on the seat. Placing a pillow behind my back,...which was against the opposing door made it a bit better also.
I don't know if you have access to a vehicle with a big enough back seat though ?

That's a good idea, Tops - were you still able to wear a seat belt when you were turned side on? But...my sister phoned me yesterday, and it sounds like she might have an ambulance to bring her home, which I'm quite relieved at. I didn't relish the thought of driving anywhere near the infamous Spaghetti Junction. It's the British equivalent of the Bermuda triangle, people can be lost for decades driving around there.

I spent the day at my new work place yesterday, my goodness there's a lot for me to learn, but I'm excited to get started. I don't have to start working properly until the 11th Dec, so plenty of time to prepare.

Hope everyone's week is going well.

happy belated bday, top! hope you have fun in Tennessee

excited for you Free

hanging in here. Things on the home front have gotten pretty challenging. I've been thinking about options seriously I hadn't dared considered before. But it's all been pretty scary. Feeling a lot better today.

How are you Mariah?

Izzy, I'm sorry to hear that you're facing some challenges at the moment. If you're faced with some scary options, it might be worth writing it all down - all the pros and cons of each option. I do this a lot using big flip chart paper, it helps to bring some personal control back in to the situation.
I hope you're getting some support through this time

I'll be clearing out my little home study today, it really is a shambles at the moment.

Hope everyone's day goes well today.
