I'm having some trouble, my Dad insists on going to AA meetings with me, even though I tell him that I don't want him there. He refuses to listen.

They can be a draining experience, my parents can tend to be melodramatic about me and that only brings more stress. I'm prone to being overly dramatic on myself, and I find the best thing to do is focus on being rational about my problems. The best analogy I can use is that when there is a fire it doesn't help to have someone around putting more fuel on the flames.

Of course.....totally understand that. My parents were exactly the same....and so am I.

So OK....be honest.....tell them that it's better for you, that you will get more from the meetings if they are not there. But they/your dad might still want to come to one or a few because he wants to know you are safe.

Compromise if you can....it helps put out the flames. ♥

Well, I was going to complain about how cold it is....a month earlier than it should be which is NOT fun for an Aussie trying to get used to living in the US, but then I saw Kane's post....

So, I'm fine thank you. :-) ♥

Kane ~ it was -7C here odd the last few days....and people are laughing at me when I tell them I'm cold....they say stuff like, oh, THIS isn't cold.....

So please enjoy the sunshine. For both of us. :-) ♥
