Class of November Support Thread 2017 Pt 1
Gypsy I'm only at a beginner level but your recommendations would be greatly appreciated😊 I have degenerative disc disease in my spine and neck, hoping yoga exercises might help ease my pain? Ive struggled with the pain since I was 18 years old (38 now) only the last couple of years it has started to affect my neck too. Carrying extra weight, 3st to be precise, isn't helping either, it's so time to sort my body, mind and life out!
Hope your meeting goes well tonight.x😃

I get 1:1 alcohol counselling sessions, we call my old friend "the enemy"! I would tell myself that I couldn't go out to do my hobby/or anything because I was too tired, not fair on my kids etc etc...it was really the enemy talking, getting me to stay home & drink!
My anxiety is a bit better but still tough. I'm on a low dose of citalopram for it. I was hoping it would be much better by now but sadly not.
I've tried yoga in the past but not liked it. Maybe Pilates? I think I need another distraction to keep me busy.

Don’t know if you’re looking for an exercise type hobby specifically, but do you like art at all? Painting? I’ve enjoyed the Art Sherpa on YouTube in the past. She has a ton of videos where you can paint along with her. Lots of beginner stuff.

I don't do any exercise and so thought would be a healthy choice, and might help with the anxiety. I used to love art but not sure about it at the mo...my kids are 4 & 7 years old, they'd probably steal any stuff I bought!! Ideas are welcome though!
