Hi mako & asixstringnut good for you!

I'm not going to drink today that's for certain. Apparently a noon meeting wasn't in the cards either. My AA hopping buddy had a spur of the moment appt. with his anesthesiologist for an upcoming procedure so that knocked the 12pm meeting off the radar. I found another meeting at 12:30 so we headed to that one, just in time save for the fact the building is undergoing renovations and guess what? No meeting. These things happen to us all the time so it was rather comical that when I want to go to a meeting? It isn't there lol. Oh well... Refuge Recovery at 6pm. Fingers crossed.

Day 4 and I'm sitting on the couch drinking green tea. Dream catcher, it was nice to meet you earlier in chat, I ended up taking a nap (better than taking a drink!)

Checking in at end of day 4 and also Friday night here. Typically, I’d be 7 beers in by now. Instead, got off work, went grocery shopping, hit the gym hard, and came home and ate a healthy meal immediately. A friend texted and wanted me to meet up with others for drinks... I said no thanks.

Going to spin up some Netflix and make it an early night. Hope everyone met their goals today. BC.

Day 5! Just checking in. I'm having my morning coffee. I'm doing good, staying strong. I'm grateful I won't have to go to the store to buy wine today. How is everyone else doing??

Hi everyone. I would’ve had 8 days today but blew it last night. Picking myself back up.

Happy weekend folks!
Checking in on day 4. I have been through class a few times.
Don't get discouraged. Just hop back in right away.
Numerous day 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5s are not fun.
Felt tired and blah the last few days. Thank you Netflix but it's time to getting off the screen and do something. Going to take a walk and get some reading in.

Hope you all have a fun weekend! For those of you in the US we get an extra this weekend. Well most of us. I am going to take advantage of it.

Quick check in. The Refuge Recovery was right on last night. The meditation was just what I needed. Some other crazy things happened outside the yoga studio's door involving a drunk guy which sort of broke the meditation serenity for us but gave us something to discuss. Refuge is my preferred meeting but alas there's only one close and it's only once a week so I supplement with AA.

Went to my house and hung out with my brother & older of my 2 boys (he just turned 19). Loaded some stuff in the bfs truck to move to his house so even though I got gypped on the AA meeting yesterday afternoon it was still productive all the way around even though the bf drinks as does my brother. I read something in AA's living sober book about not requiring those around you to abstain. It's hard when you live with it but I have to remember it's my problem.

Looking for a meeting to get to sometime today. Hope everyone is doing well. It's beautiful out!

Pick yourself up Jillian. Sobriety starts over the very minute you don't drink.

Welcome back Mako and Jillian

The best advice I can give anyone is to post here before you drink - let the collective wisdom of SR help you out

Hello, everyone. I’m R&H. Not new to the forum, but a newcomer once again. I’m back because I’ve hit bottom. My actions while drunk led to a lot of heartache for my wife. She’s 6 weeks pregnant. I don’t want to be a drunk father and husband like my dad was. I know how much pain that caused and still causes. I’m determined to kick this thing for good. I’m on day 3, and going to bed early. Stay strong, everyone.

R&H
