Checking in this afternoon. I am struggling. Feels like all the wheels have come off my car amd I’m in a free spin. Gotta find the brakes (oh and probably the wheels) Not sure what the plan is except to not drink today. A lot easier said than done. Sigh.
Well going to make a tea and find something to read/watch/play.
Oh and P.S. I also really like the Good Place.....thought I would hate it initially. Lol

Sam- perhaps something involving ice cream would help.
Remember to look after you- BBG, food, hydrate, rest.
My friend goes to detox tomorrow. Asked to go for a walk today. Walking and coffee I do well. This detox is the first level 'test'...for the process into her getting into a very serious recovery program. The one I am in- basically has the recipient live their normal life- but with rules. This other one is like military boot camp. No phones, visitors, work tasks, isolated semi rural environs. Up to her.
Hope the Granny B-ing is wonderful, Gran.

Much better night at work money-wise. Thank goodness.
Bad news is I just got home and I have to be back to work in ten hours. Yuck. Grateful I'm going to bed sober tonight. Hope Sam and everyone else is doing OK.

Morning. Checking in. Startin’ fluid currently being consumed and a busy work day is on the horizon.

Day six.
I desperately need like two more hours sleep. Unfortunately I have to be at work in an hour so that's not an option. About to take my first sip of coffee. Maybe that'll help.
I just realized that the log-in problem I was having here most of this year seems to have been solved during my recent absence. Knock on wood that I didn't just jinx myself. And thanks to whoever (whomever? I never can remember the difference) fixed that annoying issue.
Not gonna drink today, I promise all of you and myself.

Good Sunday everyone. Yucky weather here, so an inside, cup-of-tea kind of day for me. Nothing exciting. Some reading and paperwork I guess. I'll have to check out The Good Place, too.

Morning everyone, well my small break from technology was successful! I did an extremely intense First Step work sheet. It was 10 pages of really hard questions. Lots & lots of writing. It really opened my eyes to the fact that there is ZERO doubt I am an alcoholic. I'm gonna be sure to review it often & am throwing myself back into the middle of AA. I know I've said that before but I never kept my committment because I thought I could do it "myself". NOPE! No more white knuckling! It never lasts for me! I had almost 6 years sober because I stayed in the middle of AA, I stopped AA & relapsed. Why re-invent the wheel? I am determined. I have surrendered.

Kiki, that sounds awesome. Congrats on the difficult work. I think surrender is good. I've often thought you could benefit from taking a gentler approach to your sobriety, but I can barely keep my self on-track 
Maybe some deeper level of acceptance will help with that. Keep sharing here - your progress means a lot to us.

Bobbie, I'm kind of scared of taking anything like ambien for sleep. If I take some benedryl, I go to sleep fast but wake up in a few hours. Also, benedryl sleep is not quite real sleep for me. I have hit or miss results with ZMA, but at least it's healthy! I've come to believe it's a physical activity thing. I think I need more movement - nothing crazy hard, just moving around.

Good morning everybody. Boy am I being tested! I mentioned a week or so ago about a car problem I had and my AV didn't even try to take advantage. Well car troubles have happened again!!! And once again AV hasn't said a word!!!
Have I arrived? Well maybe yes and maybe no. I realize how tricky the AV is.
But I feel really good that circumstances that would've sent me to the beer store before didn't even effect me this time around!
