. I won’t be deterred. I am happy today. Why not write all about my sweet sober day. I was thinking about how authenticity really beats the pretentious alcoholic life. How me and my drinking people ran around pretending to do and see interesting and fun things—and have great conversations....but really it was all just a front for drinking! Alcohol just dulls everything but we had to make it seem good somehow.I can look at the start of the fall colors here and really see them, now. We have another big Fall front coming tonight and I am looking forward to the storms and cool weather. Fall will soon win a battle and I need to get some firewood for my first fireplace. How awesome for the holidays.
I had a very productive day and then watched a football game with my parents at their house. I feel happy and grounded, ready for a good meal and some series or another. Really enjoying the first season of Victoria. Watching movies and shows is more fun sober, too. Why did I ever drink? I don’t want to go back to that dull life ever!

Checking in for 24. Had a disagreement within the family. Surprised me but not surprising. Guess I had been lulled into hoping family life would calm down. Oh well, thats life with someone who suffers from NPD. In the past I would have been wracked with guilt and self loathing. I can see past that now. Still disturbs but I am better equiped to deal with it. The journey continues with its ups and downs.
