Good morning to all
To my fellow Canadian friends happy thanksgiving let’s enjoy it sober.
For this alcoholic 24 more please.
Meditation for the Day
Pray - and keep praying until it brings peace and serenity and a feeling of communion with One who is near and ready to help. The thought of God is balm for our hates and fears. In praying to God, we find healing for hurt feelings and resentments. In thinking of God, doubts and fears leave us. Instead of those doubts, and fears, there will flow into our hearts such faith and love as is beyond the power of material things to give, and such peace as the world can neither give nor take away. And with God, we can have the tolerance to live and let live.

10:11 am in California and checking in for another 24. I need to try to rest today because I am going to the Coldplay concert with my oldest tonight. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!!

Finally feeling better (thank you full moon and hormones) and I had an amazing night with my kids. I didn't yell, I didn't get mean or angry. We went to a train show and to a farm and store for Halloween decorations. Then came home and decorated and had dinner. Bedtime went really well and I feel so proud of myself for the choices I made to be a better mother. I really can do this. I don't have to be a screamer anymore.
Hubby and I have a date today- our second one this year. I think we are doing a scavenger hunt in the city although I wouldn't mind a hike on a nearby trail either.
Here for another 24 hours of freedom. As I've been meeting new people through my kids school I sense the AV coming out trying to get me to drink again. I have to deal with hanging out with people in social situations where there is drinking and I'm not ready for that. Or maybe I am? I'm not sure. I guess I just miss the old days of socializing that way. I hope that feeling gets easier with time.

You also mentioned hiking, do any of the people you have met through your kids school like to hike or go for walks? This is something I plan with friends and it makes for a great time to talk. The fact that the AV even pops up may be a signal that drinking situations aren't the best for you yet. You may get to that point in time. I am okay being around people drinking, but still prefer doing something that doesn't involve alcohol, it's just more enjoyable for me.
