One Year & Over Part 54
How is your daughter, Gilmer? It's good you can lean on each other in your loss.
Itchy, I'm glad you have your son back for a while, and good he is clean and sober.
Hi FB, if you feel the need to do more tree work.....
Sass.
Peej sounds like your friend has switched one addiction for another with her running, but the self neglect feels like guilt and punishment. It sounds like she would benefit from a facility that offers extensive therapy. I hope she gets, and accepts a place soon. You are a good friend, and learning tolerance and patience too!
FBL sounds like Fran was on form, I hope she continues to improve in leaps and bounds.
Hi Nogard, don't think our paths have crossed before. Good to meet you.
Got some fiddly painting to do today, hubby back in Blighty, cold wet and miserable, and that's just him, the weather is even worse. I'm still in the sun for a few more days. Not looking forward to the homeward journey, I arrive in the wee small hours to a cold dark empty house. Brrrrr! I need to stock up on vitamin D between now and then! Plenty of outdoor work, so plenty of sun.
Happy Monday all

1600ish. Today was a public hol. So when I got to the venue 9a church)- everything locked up- no staff- no key. The staff knew friday I was there today- but I deid not know to ask and they did not thibk to remind about collecting a key. So we set off and had a sit down meeting in the city parklands..a 5 minute walk. All good.
There was one guy b4 the meeting waiting- a VERY cooked brain from booze- no judgements, but he could not keep a cohesive though and was in a solve the world's problems mood. Including me suing the company that made the fibre-g splint which moltenised when I burnt, to options over who could get a key. He found me later in the day- when I bouht a coffee for my stuggling friend. As did another VERY smart guy- with a half cooked brain. As did the other guy who followed me and my friend- from the meeting and just would not go. He even waited outside my place while I went to the loo- to keep following. Not anything- but a little tiring. My friend is not doing well. She continues to run- even though in great pain. I cannot MAKE her stop drinking..but offer support as I can. Out for 4.5 hours all up. This girl has a Masters degree in something- so she KNOWS all the should's, must's and have to's. I said I would not do that- but just be with her and listen. Every one has to find their own path. Oh and the other-other guy with cognitive probs...who made it loudly clear at the meeting that it did not matter we were not in our usual venue and he forgave me.

Good morning Overs.
PJ the members of my emotional well being group have problems that I have no clue about but we listen, talk and support. It helps the givers and the receivers.

At least 20 dead and more than 100 wounded in Las Vegas mass shooting. One shooter killed and they are looking for several folks in collusion with the shooter.
The shooter is dead, he was a local resident. Might be like McVeigh - domestic terror. They have a search on for a person of interest. A Marilou,

Hi Nogard!
Itchy, man's inhumanity to man - it never stops. Lucky me, all I need to do is look around me at the lovely people in my life and the gorgeous ocean right out the living room window and I am reminded that there will always be good and evil. Enduring the evil is impossible at times. The good can be amazing.
PJ, love it - meeting in a park! You, my friend, are caring, creative and smart.
Gilmer, I'm glad you and your daughter have each other
Hi Suze, how is married life treating you?
Hi Mags, Andy, Toots, Dee and everyone.

Hi Mags, Andy, Toots, Dee and everyone.
Welcome, Kev (Nogard)!
Looks like I may have to hold down the fort again today. My co-worker's wife had a total knee replacement, so he can't leave her alone just yet.
Have a Marvelous Monday, overs!

Thanks, OOTT.
Toots, my daughter is doing well, but for now she’s avoiding well-meaning acquaintances who inquire about Wilbur; she just can’t bear to hash it all out again, especially when she has to repeat the report for every person.
For me the pain is much less raw now, though I still have my moments. She is much more vehement in her emotions: so it’s rougher for her and probably will be for some time.
