Thanks, Dee! I agree - the longer I am sober the more I rediscover about myself as I used to be before alcohol. I also find I am much better able to evaluate what is and isn't important and make changes. At 3 years, the changes are still coming :-)

I want a drink. I'm not sure I can make it one hour. I just want a break from the relentless knowledge that I drank away my life and I can't make it from here. It's too late and I drank away all the gifts god gave me. Very sad.

Pebbles the roots of alcoholic me went so deep I'd literally forgotten there was another me before all that- but it was a great joy to discover that old me - the real me - was still there.

I understand wanting a break. We all do . Think of something. Anything. Just to break this for now.
You'll never regret getting through this today honey but you'll 100%regret taking that first drink.

Another 24 for me too thx!
I went back to my AA home group last night and I got a new sponsor. I'm still feeling pretty low and emotionally overwhelmed, but I've been here enough times to know this too shall pass.
