Thank you for the love, everyone! I'm at my parents' house, staying dry. I decided that their home is better situated than mine. They have a generator, and are in a relatively good area in times of flooding.

Yes Delilah, I can take test again & will be prepared as much as can
Just left work but was fufilling either way to celebrate in my heart since won't be able to hit a mtg tonite anyway! I looked @ the five(no pun intended) step promises while listening to an AA speaker tape & was experiencing them w/o knowing it fully
My best is walking hand in hand with Spirit(meaning God Himself) of the universe!! This yr has honestly been nothing but growth. Everything from dealing w/ different types of personalities @ work to tolerating others in recovery; then it dawned on me that I'm sure others have to put up with my small quirks or whatever-got a laugh out of that. However, meeting one of you person has been the best thing & that was my lovely & sweet friend Ms SL!! Special shoutouts to V , Kris & recently Delilah for kind, encouraging words when I was feeling low & hurting
24 mo of deep gratitude as sweet sobriety continues

Prayers to all in Texas.
2 years ago- in an alcohol induced b-out with a ciggie and a fibreglass splint turned molten- I burnt to death. I was revived 3 times and obviously lived.
Today I donate blood-I gave back to those who saved me, in a sense.
For that I am eternally grateful.

Happy to be safe and dry, house in good shape, and sober! Minor tree and structure damage, power out for a bit, and a little flooding in my neighborhood, but we are doing very well compared to our neighbors to the east. We were on the outer edges of the hurricane and got some high winds and flooding rain, but have escaped major problems so far. Couple more days to go. Glad you're ok, Dane. I hope the storm eases up and moves away soon.
Sober and so happy to be that way. I had some thoughts of drinking when I went out for groceries, but they seemed alien, like they were someone else's thoughts. So they were pretty easily dismissed. Maybe I am changing into someone else

Day 25
Joining for day 25. Not everything is perfect in my life. It's only been three weeks of sobriety and I'm facing the wreckage left in the wake of my drinking. I might lose my job because of so many incomplete assignments. But at least I'm not drinking and I'm committing to another 24 hours.
