Morning all

Day 10 for me and feeling positive. I am trying to be mindful of the positive effects I'm noticing and though I would share them here:

1. I had a full night of unbroken sleep last night for the first time which was lovely.
2. My daytime cravings for carbs and junk have settled down so I'm eating better.
3. Acid reflux had calmed down and is not needing medicating.
4. My ironing pile has vanished.
5. My clothes are not as tight and I'm sure I've lost a chin already.
6. My dog is happy as she's getting more walks.

What changes are you noticing so far?

Morning everyone, Wednesday already! Welcome to the thread Mando

Bluebird, I too make a point of focussing on the positives and there are far too many to list right now but the two biggest for me are:

Natural sober sleep. It took about a week for me to really feel it but it is awesome!

I have zero anxiety. None at all. It's a relief to know that the anxiety and paranoia I felt before was alcohol fuelled and not my natural state. The AV had me convinced otherwise of course. I could go on and on and on but what a great post Bluebird. Gratitude really is all it's cracked up to be.

Happy Wednesday everyone stay strong, and if you are not feeling strong, post!

Today I am grateful, over the last month I have only drank two nights instead of twenty. I have been offered a new job. I have gone back to yoga and I meditate most days.
Serenity, Courage, Wisdom.
May you all have a wonderful day xxxx

Good posts about mindfulness! I try to stay mindful.....like if I'm not satisfied at the moment I have to remember how far I've come......I have a long way to go, but at least I'm not back there anymore....just gotta keep going!

Kiki lets us know how that book is ~ it sounds like a good one!

Onward together we go!

Good morning gang! Not much new here, just relaxing with family on vacation. Looks like everyone is doing great. If you do find yourself back at day one just tweak the plan and keep moving forward!

Morning everyone! Gosh, what a day. I'm working evening shift today, but my manager called me in the morning to ask if I could come asap to help cleaning up after refurbishing. It was such a mess so it took us a few hours... and after we were done, we were given a bottle of whatever as a 'thank you'. I told my manager that I'm good, I'm ok with a soft drink, but she said 'don't be silly' and literally put a bottle of prosecco into my bag. I was going to wait till Saturday to give it to a friend, but I don't feel strong enough, I think I just pour it down the sink. My AV is telling me 'you have to drink it coz it's FREE'

Bluebird, thank you for that list!! I also noticed I'm less tired and genuinely happier. I don't sleep well unfortunately, but I blame it on drinking too much coffee.

Welcome, Sandra16!! Congrats on 7days!!

Snufkin...people do that to me all the time...try to give me alcohol. What do they not understand about the word "NO"! It's a complete sentence after all! Ugh. Just dump it or your AV will torture you all day!!! You got this!
