Watching the classic film - ET with my kids. One of them just asked, "what's ET short for?" The youngest replied, "because he's only got little legs!"
Made me laugh and reminded me of a Neoo joke so thought I'd post it and now see this place is joketastic today. Loving the laughs which is good because soon I'll be crying. Doesn't matter how many times I watch it, the ending of this film always gets me. Why does he have to go home?? Xxx

75 days
Good morning everyone- here to commit to the next 24 hours of freedom from alcohol.
It's a sad day for me- my favorite uncle in Greece passed away 40 days ago (we celebrate at the 40 day mark.) My parents flew over on Friday and I am full of tears this morning as I remember him like he was in the picture below. I am on the left, on his shoulder (this picture is from the 80s.)
He was so much fun- always joking, always making people laugh. He was in his 80s when he passed and he lived a good life. I think I am just missing those days of innocence, of purity. I see the little girl and I wonder how she turned into so much pain and struggle. I miss the summers of endless beach and water, eating food without thinking twice about it, being around all of my cousins. Those were the best days of my life and I will never get them back. Just feeling nostalgic and of course, more than anything wondering how my aunt is going to go on without him.
I know death is a part of life and I believe I will see him again in the afterlife so for that I am grateful. Just feeling a bit sad this morning as I know 7 hours ahead of me in Greece, there is a room full of people mourning his death. Hopefully they are also remembering how wonderful he was.

Happy Sunday wonderful people!
7.53am in the UK and I've just got back from an 8 mile run. Life is so much better now that hangovers are no longer zapping my time and my soul. I realised during my run that in 3.5 months, I'll have a year sober. It's going to happen. I know it.
Love you all for helping me get this far. 24 more hours please xxx

Sunny,
That is a beautiful picture. I am sorry for the loss of your uncle, sounds like you have wonderful memories of him that will stay with you.
Your post reminded me of a story I read yesterday about the tv show [U]The Wonder Years[U] . Someone asked Fred Savage if there would be a spin off showing where they all are now, and he said "no." The reason was very similar to your description of childhood. He talked about nostalgia and the time of innocence, and how that can only be recaptured in our memories.
The wonderful thing for us, is we get to watch that time of innocence with our children, and they will look back remembering us, and how we helped them to create wonderful, and lasting memories.
Sending you a few extra hugs, and lots of love today.
