Awesome Obo......I'm feelings really grateful these days for my sobriety & so glad for you too. I remind myself now & then how hard it was to stop this last time as I know it was for you too. High Five Obo

In for the bargain. We are now not just hot here but hot & smokey from several different wildfires. I would have been a terrible pioneer.

Nite All

Watched the athletic world championships last night on TV, Mo Farah is a legend! What a race. He got the gold medal, but unfortunately he's injured himself, so there's a question as to whether he'll be fit enough to defend his 5000 mtr title on Wednesday.

I'm hoping to weed the veggy patch today if the rain hold off. It's never been so overgrown, it's difficult to recognise the edible stuff in there at the moment!
Even the slugs are finding it hard work

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hope you ( and the slugs ) ,..get a reprieve Free

Rain forecast here for yet another week ,..... Was able to set a replacement post for the clothes line last week ,....

Went out yesterday to help Danny brown with a cabinet remodel in Windmill Harbor on the North end . It's been over a decade since I've done work in these million dollar-plus houses in these 'gated communities "

We drove by several leaded glass entryways I commissioned 20 years ago driving in . In those years I never stopped working long enough to take pictures of anything ,...

Danny's got access into several gated communities with his commercial truck decals . Will have to bring my "smart phone " next time to take a few pictures next time .

Was pretty glad those windows survived the hurricane anyway !

on a side note ,.....I'd forgotten just how obscenely wealthy the folks actually are. here . The marina in Windmill harbor has it's own lock system and the hardware docked out there must
be in the hundreds of millions. ( at least )

Makes me grateful to be working at our working class resort tonight .

I would make a horrible pioneer too, Mariah, lol!

and the slugs, the pooooooor slugs ...

sorry I haven't posted much. My life went from 1st to 5th gear overnite. first "official" paid day was yesterday so between that, getting classroom ready and coursework for certification, it's been non-stop.

Family has been awesome at our new routine. I have spreadsheets that outline everyone's new jobs and menus. Should have done all this sooner! And they STILL have time for countless hours on video games and tv, etc.

That will end soon however with school starting. they are all pretty good students and the 2 oldest have jobs so I guess it's ok to let them indulge a little ... ?

In for the bargain! Way to go Obo! Hope your feet get better, Mariah!!

What a wonderful example you're setting Izzy !

It must be a great comfort to witness your family stepping up to the new situation .

Managed to get an inoperable third floor AC unit running earlier between check-ins tonight ,.... things should be slowing down in a week or so with most schools getting started back up .

How'd the weeding go Free ?!?

Well, I actually didn't do any weeding after all....ended up cleaning off all the window sashes ready for a coat of wood stain, then cleaning up all of the guttering. I did pick some runner beans for dinner, which is a kind of weeding I suppose..

I'm just glad I don't have to look after one of those big houses around Windmill Harbour! Those poor people can't have any time to smell the roses with all the housework they have to do, how would they reach their guttering? being rich is must be such a bind

It must be very satisfying to see your stained glass still looking beautiful Tops.

Izzy, that's a blessing to have your families support through this transition period. Very often people will resist change, but your family seem up for it, that's going to help no end. Well done you

Mariah how did your river trip go? Hope you're feeling well rested and energised.

I'm off to see my parents - I think I might see my sister too today, she said she might visit. It'll be nice to see her. She's a bit more volatile than me and she and Dad always seem to find something to disagree about. They're so much alike and so stubborn, but both think it's the others fault they argue. I have to say it can be quite amusing at times.

Families.....

Have a great day all.

It's the closing date for my job application today, so I might hear something over the next few days...
If I don't hear anything though, I do have another cunning escape plan brewing!

Better get ready for work.
Hope everyone's had a great start to the week

No news yet.... I think this means there might be more than just my application....which is a shame because I thought my chances would be quite good without any competition

I have been snacking on some homemade chocolate "energy balls". A mixture of cocoa, cashew nuts and dates. Wonderfully comforting, but I fear I may have over indulged. My digestive system is used to a lot of fibre, but I may well have reached its endurance threshold this time

I hope I hear something soon, not just to get me out of this misery, but more importantly to save on toilet paper!

On the positive side, Mo Farah is running the 5000 mtrs in a few minutes.

Go Mo!!

Hope you hear some good news ( relatively ) soon !!

Those "energy balls" sound delicious . Far ,...fa...aaaar healthier than the store bought "granola bars " I found in the clearance section last week .

Just returned from another trip to Georgia . The morning spent with Mom got off to a slow start,...but improved as the hours went by,.....
thank goodness .

It seems I have only one more appt. with an Ortho Dr. over there on Fri. ,..... and hopefully only one more with a dentist early next month .

All the doctor'in the last five months was startin' to give me the blues

Tops, that's great news that the appointments are coming to an end. The medics must be pleased with your progress. You'll be able to make the most of your part time hours now

It's actually sunny this morning! Beautiful moon too.
Only three and a bit weeks until I get to see Eckhart Tolle in London. I can't wait.

Hope everyone's doing well.

Still no news!

I'll instigate plan B over the weekend, and get some letters sent to some potential employers. Operation "job hunt" has formally begun. This could be a very long process...

I hope everyone's had a good week. It's Friday eve here, and I'm in for the Bargain.

Take care all

.

I'll bet their strategy is to avoid appearing too eager for someone with your background Freein !?

Just returned from Georgia and declined a shot of some "steroid" for my back. It seemed pointless, since I have such a bias against any further treatment once it wore off .

Was lucky . as can be yesterday to run across two older deadbolts for the small structure next to the shop . Could barely remember a friend had keyed them years ago matching the deadbolts on the shop . Found a couple machine screws at a hardware store in Georgia to finish installing an old salvage brass handle matching the recently installed deadbolts yesterday . !!

,...in for the bargain too !

15 not out!

I've entered an anger management program here.
Still got issues to deal with inside.
Found a therapist, male, 30 years experience.
Had a long talk over the phone and start counselling next Thursday.
A good move for me I think.

I'm in 100% for the bargain.

I'm glad you're still trying to deal with the anger stuff Obo. I reckon a bloke is a good fit for you too.

Best of luck,
