I remember first learning the double under ,....and since the trick is to speed up the rope apparently,..... It was easier once I anticipated and "sped it up " a little earlier ,....well before leaving the ground.
....if that makes sense.

I've spoken with the staff at my mums care home today, it sounds like she is nearing the end of her struggle. She's sleeping pretty much all of the time, and is terribly dehydrated, as she isn't able to eat or drink. She has been at this stage before and then miraculously started to eat and drink again. I just hope she remains peaceful and free from pain, whatever happens.
The home will call me if there is any change either way.

I have mixed emotions about it all, but I know the kindest thing would be for her to slip away.

It's a very strange time, but I'm ok, really I am.

Take care everyone.

Thanks Mariah X
Hope all's well with you too!

Any plans for a river visit this weekend?

It's been a long week here, I'm looking forward to a plateful of beans on toast - quick, easy, tasty, very few pots to wash, what's not to like for a Friday night fare?

Heard that was a popular meal over in the UK years ago !

Beans and rice may be one of the most common meals in the poorer parts of the south ,....( which I eat a lot of btw ,...lo ) ,....but have enjoyed beans and toast many times now ,....since hearing of it twenty five years ago ,....delicious !

With most kids back in school now ,...it's slowing down already .

Was thinking of calling out because I've been gimped up a little with a swollen L ankle again,....but did ice it yesterday and today ,.... it seems to be improving . The swelling is way, way down anyway !

Just about made it through another year without turning on the AC !

Hopefully it'll start cooling off more a bit in the evenings soon ,....run a window ( box ) fan to pull in the fresh air.

You too UP

Beans on toast is still a staple for the UK. And now Heinz have a low sugar, low salt sauce it's a bit more healthy too. Home cooked beans and rice is definitely a better option though. Mixed with some greens, it's a full, well balanced meal (recommended by Dr Greger (author of how not to die!)). I eat a lot of grains with beans. Which is why.........

Drum roll please.......

I can do a double- under.......and.......I can cross my arms for a few skips..
(Not both at the same time though)

To be fair, I haven't managed many consecutive jumps, but even so it's worth a little jig:

Sorry to hear that your ankle is playing up Tops. Is it a residual result from the accident? I would imagine you'd need to rest a swollen ankle? Hope it's Ok now.

One positive thing about the UK' s weather is that we don't need air conditioning. You get away without needing a wetsuit, and we get away without A/C. Although you seem to be flouting all the natural laws of human requirements at the moment! With your stoic efforts on energy conservation, I think we can expect significant improvements in the ozone layer this year.
Great work Tops

More new moves in the mix today !!

Awesome !

Had no idea y'all didn't need AC in the summers !??

Izzy,.... you far enough from the coast in Texas today ?

Never called out of work this am, ... will just see how it goes tonight ,.....

Free,.... been lucky with no ankle injuries ,.... but this collision changed that I guess . There's no bad pain,...so it's probably just in the "slower healing" category .

Do you skip to music ?

We do have a/c in most cars now (but I still just open my windows, and enjoy getting my hair messed up

I skip to a playlist on my iPod, usually it's most of the songs from the Fleetwood Mac album "the dance". I get a bit carried away with Lindsey Buckingham' s guitar playing. Its always a shock when I realise I'm actually a 51 year old responsible (ish) adult, skipping in my garage and not a 17 year old teenager, sitting on a bus travelling to college with my Sony Walkman blasting out (ah, those were the days....). It's definitely not what Eckhart Tolle would recommend, not exactly "living in the now", but it does mean I get a lot of exercise!

Ankles are complicated joints aren't they, I'm guessing they might take a bit longer to heal (no pun intended )

I heard about the hurricane around Texas, I hope it's missed you Izzy.

Take care all X

Well, ...how's everyone doin' ?

My two day work week didn't last even one week ! ....one guy quit yesterday,...and the other person is soon moving back up north ,....

Luckily , the good guy they really should've tried to hire full time months ago,...is still able to work two nights a week,....and our activities director and office manager will both pick up a day here and there,....until they find someone new.

I'll def. be asking for a pay increase at some point since they apparently want me working the truly busy nights checking folks in ,...along with everything else.
This is only a temporary situation,...and it's easy enough to "transcend" the extra hours by focusing on a new set of tires the truck will need sometime after Christmas.

It's storming like crazy at the moment ! Just got back ( nice and dry ) from the south end on the scooter ,.....went for a swim down there .

Diet is kind of lame lately,.....

Oh no, that's just the way of it Tops - just as we think things are working out, another curve ball is thrown at us!
On Wednesday, I went to visit the work place of the job I have applied for. I've learnt a lot more about it, and now I'm worried that the job may be even more demanding than what I'm doing at the moment! making a change would be good, but I need to consider things carefully before the interview.

My Mum was put on a syringe driver on Tuesday. We were told that it would be likely that she would pass away within 72hrs, but that hasn't been the case. Fortunately she does seem peaceful, and not in any distress. I'm taking each day as it comes.

I hope everyone else is doing well.
