7.55am in UK and checking in for another 24.
Feeling so nervous today...... later today I have to go to a family event that involves seeing family members I haven't seen since my dad died last year, when my drinking spiralled out of control.
I would love to build some bridges with my mum and my sisters but I know this may never happen. Whatever does happen, I know that the earth will continue to turn, the sun will set tonight and rise tomorrow and I will stay sober. These things are certain.
Thank you so much everyone. Just knowing that you're all out there gives me the courage to face my fears. You're all amazing and I wish each of you a very happy, sober day xxxxx

Good morning all! Sitting in bed on a Saturday morning with my coffee hangover free truly is my favourite moment of the week. Friday nights used to be massive bender nights as my girls go to their dad's and it can be a trigger night (old habits and all that) so it makes my Saturday mornings extra special. Quiet and genuinely peaceful.
Back to planning each day carefully here. I got quite a lot done yesterday (coffee fuelled I must admit!). I guess im balancing what I feel capable of with what needs to be done......2 jobs 2 kids and a house to keep up with. But I need to remind myself how very lucky I am to have this all still in tact and practice a bit of gratitude too!
Delilah continued prayers for your mum I hope she keeps improving steadily sweetheart ❤

Kenton good luck for today. All you can do is be there and present and sober each time you see your family and hopefully time will heal your divide with the family ❤

Hello CONTEXT95. Only you can decide whether to quit drinking or not. The only bit advice I have is this: Alcoholism is progressive. If your having problems with it now they're only going to get worse. Scary worse!
Prayers for your Mom, Delilah I hope she gets better soon. Good luck with your daughters, I see some grey hairs in your future.

I had several occasions when I was able to drink like a gentleman - but when you put those handful of times against the sheer hundreds of times when I lost the plot...
Even a drunken numbskull like me could see which way the wind was blowing....
I really hope you can too.
