Duff, I haven't been down to see them since my dad got home, they are in the midst of having their bathroom redone to make it into a wet room. But I speak to them often and my brother & his wife keep an eye on them. My mum is improving all the time, is back to her golf! My dad is also making improvements but at a slower pace. He is walking with a frame, but also walking short distances with sticks. He is still all about himself, that will never change, ( growing up with a narcissist father is no fun either!) but I think my mum has made a few changes in how she handles him. My nephew gets married in a few weeks so we will all meet up at the wedding.

Well, it happened again, I was cleaning my laundry room and carport yesterday when Aunt Bee jumped over the safety gate and bolted past me, I chased her for about an hour, she would let me within a few feet and then take off. Finally she got out of sight, haven't seen her or heard from her since.

If I do get her back, I think I will try to find a home better situated for her, she really needs to have someone around her all day, when she's here without me she can be destructive.

I just hope she's okay and not hurt.

She's back, went 3 houses away and stayed on their back porch all night.

oh I'm glad she's back Budd---It sounds like she's trying to show you whose boss. ha ha .
Hubby was drinking again last night and we got into another argument. I should know better from my past drinking that he and I don't mix well when there is booze involved. grrrr.
Cleaning house today---going to keep busy. Have a good day everyone !

So glad she's home, Budd! That is such a horrible feeling when they go missing.

Sass, I too wondered what a wet room is!

Babs, arguments stink. I was always uncomfortable when my husband drank - always. Alcohol def added to arguments for us too, as I'm sure it does for so many.

A wet room is a shower room where the shower isn't a seperate cubicle, the floor is all the one level and angled slightly to a central drain. It is a lot easier for people with limited movements to use and less danger of tripping. (Though knowing my dad, more chance of slipping! )

Budd glad she came back.

Manipulators know what buttons to push, and in the past when we would drink with them, they knew that pushing those buttons would reward them with a big response. Babs it sounds like even though you don't drink along side him, you are still 'rewarding' him with a response. Drinking also removes those filters we usually use, it allows people to talk about what gets to them. When they are self centred, self absorbed asshats, it means the whole of the world, including and especially you are in the wrong and being mean to the poor bedevilled creature.
They are pathetic children who refuse to grow up, who refuse to see the world around them and recognise that they are a microscopic drop in the ocean. The only response is to ignore them, otherwise you feed into their fantasy that the world actually does revolve around them!

Budd, happy to hear you found Aunt Bee!

Babs, sorry to hear that your H still drinks. I found it very difficult to stop when I was still married. I would rid the house of booze and he would immediately go out and buy more.

hugs to you guys ! ! You know what ? I do let him feed off me. and I just knew you guys would comment on my post. and I truly, truly appreciate that. He does feed on me and gets me going. and then I look back at him and actually feel sorry for him. He is like a spoiled child who doesn't get his way. I'm going to stay strong mainly because I WANT to ! thank you ===thank you---I feel so much better telling you guys about this. You are the best !

Babs, I know the cycle all too well. My ex is still trying to engage me in the craziness and it takes everything I have not to respond but it gets easier and easier.

I exercised yesterday. I got some great new music to walk to, and I finally found shoes that fit well.

After vigorous exercise, I was actually less tempted to eat excessively.

Some people speak of endorphin rushes. Only once in my life did I ever feel one--and it only lasted for a second.

I didn't feel anything yesterday, but I wouldn't be surprised if the appetite suppression was a function of it.
