Toots hang in there. Sounds like things are calming down a little.
I just lost a friend to cancer yesterday. Her sister and I were just together this last week=end. and to make a long story short I drove back from a lake home to where 7 of us gals were staying to bring my friend back to town so, she could be with her. It's sad and I know this probably doesn't make sense but, that darn cancer. Her name is Sharon and we are the same age and it really hits home when it's the ones you care about. I'm glad that it is over she suffered for 3 years and is no longer in pain.
Anyway---Hope all is well with you guys.
gotta go and fix hubby and myself some dinner. talk soon and stay close.

I'm sorry about your friend Babs, I'm sure her sister appreciated your support. It doesn't make sense how random something like that is, I guess it's not for us to make sense of it, but to honour their memory and to ensure we make the most of this one life we are given.

Saw Dad yesterday, he was walking well with a frame and they hope to have him home Friday or early next week. He still has some mental confusion, says very random stuff, but no sign of being overly emotional, thankfully. I want to see him settled at home for a day or two before I leave, I also feel it will put my mums mind at rest to have me there initially. I know she has concerns about his mental stability.
Looks looked a light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train this time!

Toots, I hope your dad stays stable for your mother's sake (and yours).

I'm heading home today. It's been a good visit with my daughter. She is managing the challenges better than expected but is still sad some of the time.

anyway---Thank you for being here. I know you guys listen and give great advise .
Some of us are going over to the sisters house and the Mother and other Sister are going to be there. I'm glad. Hubby drank a little too much last night and I just don't have the time to take all that crazy ness in right now. I've learned to take one thing at a time. and staying sober and being with my friends is #1 today.

No Toots I haven't. Sounds like a good idea. I've been busy or let's say I'm keeping myself busy. Hubby and I do get along but, lately argue more than be civil to each other. I keep thinking it's me and so, that's what I've been doing and it seems to work. I don't want to drink I just want to be myself and see what I mean? ? ? It's all about me again. grrrrrrr

Babs, while its possible that you notice more about the relationship now you are sober, from what you have said in the recent past, you have walked away from arguments rather than become entrenched in them. This leads me to think your husband may be attempting to initiate at least some of them. Is there a recurring theme to them?

Today is a new day and I'm not even going to bring it up. ugh.
Say you guys ! without looking back which one of you are reading the book "Big magic" by Elizabeth Gilbert and author of Eat Pray Love. anyway===started reading it and it has really caught my attention. and it's big print ta boot. !
so, hope to learn something from it. or try.
Well, it's early in the day and we are going over to visit his mother today. Sure hope it goes better with him today. I'm going to try to be more understanding.

My neighbor brought over some corn on the cob. so, going to blanch
and freeze it for winter. Numbmeee --it taste pretty darn good when the snow
is flying by the window and it's very cold out here in the Dakota's.
