Well, I thought I'd share an existential moment.

I'm not at the top of my game. Struggling to get back to my former glory, employment wise. Working at Front Desk duty at two motels. Not a bad job, not a great job.

I'm finding myself communicating with people as never before. Just everyday people, asking everyday questions. I'm enjoying being able to help them.

I had an epiphany today.

A painter, painting rooms in the lesser motel, has a customer that has chickens. And has a surplus of eggs. The painter gave me 10 fresh eggs.

I was overwhelmed.

I don't even know how to say what I feel. A stranger gave me food. Why does it affect me this way? How often does a random act of kindness mean so much?

What a day.

That's wonderful, Trach! How nice of him.

It is a beautiful and unique thing to feel deep gratitude and be extremely moved by something somebody says or does.

You'll carry those eggs with you for the rest of your life.

Wehave! Great to see you! I am in Scotland for the next 7 hours then fly off to Spain for 10 days. We have work still to do on the house but mostly want this visit to be a proper break.

Trachy, sounds like you really appreciate a kindness done, I love when random strangers do something nice for someone. Although the Manchester bombing was horrific, it also showed how kind people could be. Taxis arrived from all over to ferry people free, to where ever they needed to be. People turned up at the scene with water and blankets, social media was used to locate and reunite family members, and to offer rooms in people's own homes, and nearby fast food restaurants fed an watered victims and their families.
A Muslim blindfolded himself and stood on a busy Manchester street with a sign that said ' I trust you, do you trust me?' And held his arms out for hugs.

I have to believe there is more good in the world than there is evil.

Babs, remember to step back from the situation and take a breath, decide if it's a battle worth taking on, or whether just to nod and say 'yes dear, whatever.'
I have learned to do this, Mr T fortunately does his fair share too!! ( believe it or not, I am not totally the perfect wife... I know! Right?)

Have a great weekend all. We do have wifi at the Spanish Casa, so I should be around as much as usual to annoy yous all!!

Trach, what a lovely gesture - thanks for sharing it with us. Random acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, are so meaningful. I've experienced many lately and it keeps me elevated during a pretty tumultuous time.

Toots, have a great time in Spain!! Hoping you get a nice break in between the work needing to be done.

I hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend.

37 years! WOW! Well then I'd say you have a right to get irritated now and then. It's hard living with anyone but you handle it so well, Babs.

Yes, Babs - 37 years is a long one. I don't think I could last that long (and didn't!)

Babs the bottle is never the answer!! sometimes walking away to regain your equilibrium is though! A bit of distance and a chance to cool down does go a long way towards a resolution.

I'm very laid back and easy going these days, it takes a lot to rile me, so on the odd occasion I raise my voice at hubby he takes on the look of a whipped dog!

Off for a day at the beach in a while
