I just broke down and called my mom. Let me simply say that I've always had a bad time confiding in her. Talked to her about my mental illness and shame and drinking to shut my brain off. I also talked about lack of access to mental health care and worrying about work and family. For me to call mom, yeah... I want/need direction. She is going to talk to her therapist tomorrow about all i said and ask for advice/help. I'm hopeful and for nothing else I'm glad I had that conversation.

Good morning,
Happy hangover-free Monday! We can get through anything and everything better, sober.
When I show up at work many people will drag in, still feeling the effects of alcohol. I was one of those, and that walk from the car to the badge reader on Monday morning is the saddest! I drank to cope with that place--all the misery, emotions and people quitting, but today I don't have to care so much. Sobriety gives me hope. My place of work may or may not change, but I have changed, and am becoming well enough to do something different. Drinking kept me trapped. The best I could do was not call out. Yes, it's hard but keeping my thoughts on the bigger picture helps. Things will get better. Today I am focusing on health, and positive thinking. I will get through this, and much better days are ahead! Who knows, maybe today.
I bought some nice new clothes this weekend that fit me! No more feeling sad in the store dressing room--the bloat is gone! I haven't weighed in, but I am significantly lighter feeling. I am happy and becoming healthy. Love my new sober life.
24 more please and sending love and support to all from soggy Texas. Thank you for your kindness and friendship.
