Seeing the results of substance abuse in the lives of my loved ones makes me grateful to be sober. From time to time I am subject to temptation; some fleeting thought or some circumstance will take place which breeds temptation. However, looking at the results of others' indulgences and thinking back on my own history reminds me that I'm better off in recovery. This past week (actually the last few months) have not been easy, making drinking or drugging seem like an easy answer. Today however I'm not fooled; that "easy answer" is an illusion disguising a life of Hell I've tried so desperately to escape, and at least for today I refuse to go back!

9:39 in NY and checking in for another 24!
My mom has her bone marrow biopsy tomorrow, I think it may take a few days for the results to come back. She had another transfusion of platelets today because her level dropped back down to 6. I hope they start to go up soon.
Thank you all for the well wishes, and prayers. I am doing okay, I'm worried, and I am definitely physically, and mentally tired.
